Which Wide Receivers make the roster?

We have had a lot of guys flash and make plays in this group. It seems to be the only group to have any really depth.

  • Allen Robinson
  • Marqise Lee
  • Allen Hurns
  • Dede Westbrook

All are locks (pending the potential shopping of Hurns)

That leaves 1-3 spots for the following:

  • Arrelious Benn
  • Rashad Greene
  • Jamal Robinson
  • Shane Wynn
  • Keelan Cole

And also on the roster, but I assume would be cut is:

  • Jamal Robinson
  • Larry Pinkard
  • Amba Etta-Tawo

Normally with the guys in the middle group all doing what they’ve done in camp, you’d say that the team should just expand the depth there to get two or three of them on the roster, and play lighter at RB. The problem is that with the reintroduction of the FB, coupled with injuries to Fournette (should be ready for week one) and Yeldon, as well as the ineffectiveness of Ivory, the team may need to bring in 4+ halfbacks and and the FB on top of that to start the season. Particularly if Fournette is touch limited week one, can the team justify only having Ivory and Grant behind him?

And going heavy on both of those positions may leave the Jaguars light in the back 7 of the defense, where they have a good number of questions and health concerns as is.

So I posit - which WRs make the opening day 53?

Im hoping we keep Cole and wynn.

Me too man, but I don't know if we have enough room. Just waiting for this roster to get down to 53 has me biting my nails.

I think we could go with 3 qbs 5 backs, 3 tes, 6 wrs, 9ol, 10dl, 6lb, 4 corners 4 safeties 3 specialist. Could go a little lighter on the lines but i think Thompson's ability to play slot corner and free safety make it easier to onky have 4 corners. Maybe we go 1 less dl but this is a general idea

You really think we only will keep 4 corners? That seems light...

Well the majority of our corners on the roster seem like scrubs to me outside of the big 3. All are just a guy type. I kinda want to see the team try sjb out in benns special teams role cuz that would let us keep our 2 promising wrs instead of 1 and a special teamer.

Yeah, but with how the NFL is now a days I just don't see us only keeping 4 guys at that spot. Wouldn't be surprised if Patmon and Dixon/Jean-Baptiste made it.

Still crossing my fingers Jean-Baptiste can turn into something.

SJB probably doesn't have the speed. But it would definitely help make things a bit easier to fit.

4 cbs does seem way too light though. We'll have 3/4 on the field more than half the time. One spare? Nah.

U forgot about Thompson's ability to play slot.

Sjb ran a 4.61 at the combine and a 4.45 at his pro day.
