Dubz41
Free Agents: I hope for more, but I’d feel comfortable if we could get at least these two: Za’Darius Smith from Baltimore, physical edge, should be around 4 for $40M Tre Boston from AZ, above average centerfielder, should be 4 for $25M Neither are earth shaking, but seem to fit a couple holes perfectly. Like to keep Tonyan, Allison, Breeland, Ryan, Campbell. Release T Will and Nick Perry (who will have a good year somewhere else). Draft: 12- Brian Burns EDGE FSU- I think this kid is going to be something special. With Z Smith will form a great EDGE duo with Fackrell in his 3rd spot. Burns’ combine will be crucial, he could go top ten. 30- Taylor Rapp S Washington Sure some are shaking their head, but Boston is our FS and Rapp is the next Harrison Smith. 44- Deebo Samuel WR South Carolina Slot guy with suddenness. This guy is ready to contribute sooner than later. The WR room now has plenty of talent. 75- Michael Dieter IOL Wisconsin The new Tretter. Will compete for RG, but I see him as my top IOL back up. 114-Jalen Jelks Edge Oregon Was miscast as an interior pass rusher in college, but will shore up our edge position and the #4 option. 118- Chuma Edoga LT USC Developmental. Great footwork needs refinement. Backs up Bak 151- Darwin Thompson RB Utah St. The new checkdown option in LaFluer’s offense. 187- Dax Raymond TE Utah St. Will be TE #3. All the tools to develop. Underrated. 196- Chris Johnson S North Alabama 6’3” 205 Small school gem (TT type pick) 228- Matt Gay K Utah Gonna save some more money as we bid adieu to Crosby. Hell, we drafted a long snapper last year, a kicker isn’t out of the question. Hopefully gives a few names that are new. I think we have more talent than people will credit, last year was a perfect negative storm. Rodgers has the biggest chip in his whole career to motivate him. 2ND year of Pettine’s defense. Josh Jones and Spriggs take a significant step forward and away we go!
gopackgo27
Love this one from top to bottom, great job. The more I watch Rapp, the more I see Harrison Smith, good comp.

jleisher
Nice work, like the Deiter pick. I would look more for a RT then a back up for Bak. I would like to see the Packers draft at least 3 OL, protecting #12 is #1 priority, even more so the older he gets. He just needs to play more. (I also always hoped in Adams and Fackrell. patience is it's own reward sometimes) I also have a hunch that Siragusa is going to make this team and maybe start at RG. Joe
I really like this too, but I'd go with the kid out of Okie St(forget his name off hand) on Day 3 to serve as a bubble screen guy.
n8ghee
I love the positional choices and the rounds in which they were taken.
Hands
Some guys love Burns and there are guys like me that say...where's the beef? Literally, he's so light I just don't see how getting by with speed will work in the pro game. It's not a comparison to Jamal Reynolds, but visions of a few years ago when the Redskin's OT took Fackrell and tossed him like a rag doll. (air time was measured in seconds) I envision that every play from Burns. If Burn's could add like 20-25 pounds and maintain his speed, then you're talking a different player. Too many other difference makers to take a chance on Burns.
MacReady
This is the Gayest draft I've seen all year.

Plus, he's only twenty years old. He will add weight naturally. He's got length and know how, just waiting on that body to grow. Potentially a very high ceiling.

Potentially a very high ceiling. Unofficially 66 pressures last year. First for his position group. I love that about Burns. Also...by a lot of accounts, he "bulked up" last year, put on good weight and it led to a very good year. If he can continue that "bulking up" to the combine? Well...now you really have something. He's hard for #12 because we all want the "can't miss" prospect. The sure thing. Here's the thing, there likely isn't an EDGE at #12 that is "can't miss". So, you need to look at the prospect and project out a few years. To me, Burns downside is his weight/strength. Those are two easier things to add to a player. It isn't like he needs speed, agility...etc. He needs power and some bulk. If he were to be the pick at #12, I'm good with that. Very high ceiling there. Unfortunately, though, I see a kid who will play snaps as a pass rush specialist only as a rookie, probably get 3-6 sacks. And that just isn't exciting enough for #12. It's a tough place to draft for EDGE in this draft. Be it Polite or Burns or even Sweat. I think Ferrell is about as "pro ready" as they come at EDGE, but his ceiling isn't what Burns' is.. But he would be solid right away and play snaps against the run and the pass. Kind of have to weigh whether you can be patient and take Burns there. Because patience will be needed.

I agree that Ferrell is more pro ready, no doubt. I went with Burns because of the Z Smith FA signing. Z Smith is that power edge and Burns would bring the lightening. He may only get a handful of sacks, but you led off acknowledging the pressures- that's what I'm looking for- pressure. With an edge foursome of Z Smith, Burns, Fack and Jelks I think we should get some pressure. My biggest question with Burns, should be answered at the combine, is if he can drop and cover.

I like the pairing...power with speed/quickness. I don't worry about "drop and cover". That can be taught. I want to say, though, that PFF said that Burns turned and ran the seam with slots and tight ends with ease in college, though I can't find the tape to prove that. But I do remember it. Don't sleep on Matthews returning. I think he's a guy that will sit in free agency. I think he could still offer a little something as a backup EDGE rusher and backup ILB. I also see where the Fins could be releasing Quinn. He'd be another quick guy if we wanted one.

I'm going to change two picks: #75 Dawson Knox TE Mississippi- Raw, borderline elite speed and little expected of him in his first year. #196- Michael Dogbe DT Temple- unheralded addition to the DL. Plus, I'm still hoping for Tre Boston after the draft.

My safety rankings go: Savage Adderley CGJ Abram Thornhill Hooker Rapp It's no knock on Rapp, it's just a supremely deep S class to me.
