The bears should've never let the Gould standard go.

Yup.. Dumbest thing Pace has done thus far.

Is this the right move? Should Chicago try their luck going with a rookie Kicker with what appears to be a Superbowl level team or do they pursue a veteran via Free Agency like Matt Bryant?

How could it be a bad move?

Because the Bears are extremely strapped for cap space.  They have 12.8 million in effective cap space.  Cutting Parkey (I believe) still counts 4 million against their cap space.

So a team that has Amos (8 million per), Callahan (8 million per) Lynch (6 million per) O'Donnell (say 2 million per) and a couple other players to re-sign, having to sign a kicker takes even more out of their cap space.

They're effectively paying their kicker 4 million plus whatever they sign a kicker at.  The 16th highest-paid kicker in the league is getting paid 600,000 dollars against the cap.  14th is 1 million.  So if their plan is to sign an above average kicker free agent, they're spending a minimum of 6 million at kicker next year (new kicker plus Parkey dead cap).

They could always draft one, but they have exceedingly little in draft capital.

Parkey kicked 76% on his kicks.  That's not good, but it certainly isn't terrible.

Who's the best kicker in the league right now?  Probably Tucker, right?  He had an 82.5% season.

Mason Crosby had a terrible season and kicked at 64% in 2012.  The next season?  His best year as a pro at 89%.

If there was no dead money and nothing against the cap, yeah, you cut Parkey.  Dead cap?  For a kicker?  Stupid.

I think it's stupid because kickers are streaky.  Parkey has had seasons of 89%, 75%, 80%, 91% and last year 77%.  Why have any reason to believe he can't come back with a better season next year?

They already have more cap space after their first cut.  And--you're going "draft capital" route...when it comes to a kicker?

Also, although you probably will refuse to believe it--Lynch won't be re-signed, and it's likely only one, between Callahan and Amos, stays.

Painting them cutting an inconsistent kicker as some sort of self-destructive move is ludicrous. At best.

He was really bad before the Bears cut him. Went to NYG and didn’t last more than half a season.

But, yes based on their incompetent in replacing him they should have kept him and let him kick through it.

That was 100% a John Fox move.
