MistaBohmbastic
Of course the one defensive end I vehemently disagree with the Browns drafting is the ONE prospect Tony Grossi mocks to the Browns. I feel like I could totally rip him to shreds. He clearly did not watch Sweat very much, as he only cites his sack numbers and the fact that he played alongside Jeffery Simmons. But thankfully, most of you don't have the willingness to put out claims to the general public without actual research. So I need you to tell me why Montez Sweat can be an Edge worthy of the 17th selection. Don't tell me about his freakish 40. He never looked like a consistent first round talent last season. Charles Omenihu was better than him the entire time in Mobile. Bottom line - he can be a good NFL player. He's not the player the Browns want. A guy who can consistently rush the passer effectively in any kind of adverse situation. His upside as a pass rusher is FAR exceeded by the likes of Burns, Ferrell and Gary. Horseunit
He registered 3 solo tackles and a sack in this game. Doesn't look like a game changer to me.
Bonanza23
Doesn’t matter we won’t be in position to draft him, based on the combine he’s really moving up draft boards. Even heard one guy say he’s moved passed the #1 pick.
LETSGOBROWNIES
I mean, I like his physical skills and production, but he’s not a perfect prospect.... hence drafting him at 17.
MistaBohmbastic
@Horseunit that was an awful game for him. He looked like Emmanuel Ogbah.

No. NO. He's not a first rounder. Hence, this thread. If he was worth drafting at 17 I would not be making such a fuss. But there will be a number of prospects on the board I'd rather have than Sweat at 17.

AkronsWitness
@MistaBohmbastic dont you work at ESPN 850 with Grossi? Why dont you just tell him hes a human gorilla fart and literally knows nothing about any one of these prospects.

pnies20
He was a first rounder before the combine. Had nothing to do with his 40.
pnies20
Stiff hips rushing the passer but sets the edge well in the run game. Still gets after the QB, though just not bendy. If you don’t think Sweat is the guy, Omenihu DEFINITELY isn’t. The guy runs like he’s got cinder blocks around his ankles.

And that's why we have this thread. Because I think you're wrong. Your perception of his "production" ain't exactly spot on, either. Talkin Draft Episode 6 with @ACDC_Rocks024 and Tony Grossi recording tomorrow afternoon. I can't wait. EDIT - Maybe I just wanted to practice before Tony and I go at it tomorrow. Maybe not. 20 minutes ago, pnies20 said: Stiff hips rushing the passer but sets the edge well in the run game. Still gets after the QB, though just not bendy. My whole point with this is that Sweat has the lowest pass rush upside of the bunch. I think way lower than the other first round rushers and definitely lower than Omenihu's as well. That difference, at least for now, was clear in Mobile.
