LB makes more sense than CB at this point.. This is Lees' last hoorah, and we have nothing behind him.

Plus, I'm strictly talking about what I want.

I understand BPA, and the fact that it's a 2nd not a 1st, and It's a late 2nd at that. I mentioned it above.

CB or OL would suck though.

It would be worse case scenario for the BPA in round 2 to be a CB, OT, RB, OG, C, LB...

Best case scenario the BPA is a TE, DT, Safety, WR, QB, DE(Quinn is a rental)...

I agree. It's round 2. If you feel Isaiah is worth 58 more than anyone else is then draft him. But that would suck, because he without injury won't play year 1. Lewis only got 18% last year. What's CB 5 going to get?

Might as well draft Simmons if CB is your BPA after him.

Looking back at it now... I guess it doesn't matter if they contribute year 1.

Our last five 2nd round picks include Jaylon Smith, Randy Gregory, DeMarcus Lawrence, Chido Awuzie, and Connor Williams. All were unanimously disappointing in their rookie year.

Jaylon famously missed his rookie year, Lawrence missed most of the year with a foot, as did Gregory, and then failed tests while he was out, and Chido missed most of his rookie year with a hammy or something.

All of them ended up doing well later.

Asterisk for Gregory.

If our job is to get the best player no matter what and not care at all if he plays year 1, then Simmons should be our absolute #1 hope. He is the best player projected to even have a chance to be in striking range, who just so happens to be a position of top need.

my rankings with the Cowboys meetings and where they are drafting in the round

DL) Zach Allen, Khalen Saunders, Jaylon Ferguson

S) Johnathan Abraham, Taylor Rapp, Darnell Savage

CB) Isiah Johnson, Justin Layne, Joejuan Williams

WR) Hakeem Butler, Miles Boykin, Mecole Hardman

TE) Jace Sternberger, Irv Smith, Dawson Knox

RB) Trayveon Williams, Damien Harris, Devine Ozigbo

MY SLEEPER PICKS THIS DRAFT

Darnell Holland (RB/KR) Kennesaw State 5-10" 195 lbs. 4.38 speed 37.5 " vert. /  20yds. avg. per rec. / 11.9 yds. avg. per rush this kid looks like something you see in video games bring in to develop could be a great change of pace back.

Iseoluwapo Jegede (DL) Valdosta State  6-6" 277 lbs. can play on the end or inside good gap player

Stephen Denmark (DB) Valdosta State  6-2" 220 lbs. 4.46 speed this kid brings the lumber and can be good in press coverage

Quinton Bell (DE/OLB) Prarie View A & M  6-3" 238 lbs. 4.38 speed 41.5" vert. 23 reps very good at getting into the back field a lot of upside, you can't take credit for what he brings in measurable's but you can coach him up to play in your scheme with that great athleticism.

CB, pretty sure Dallas is taking one at some point in draft.
