Well, considering that his bio reads this:

And then there's this:

Apparently he was claiming to have a Rotoworld podcast, and Norris called him out.  Now he's changed his bio to read "Around the NFL News podcast," which he could have tagged if he was actually the host of "Around the NFL" (which has its own Twitter account) the show with Rosenthal and Hanzus, and Wessling, but he's not.

that’s embarrassing, but at least he didn’t pay people to say it than they reneged.

Uhhh who is Richard Todd?

Apparently, according to Chris Wesseling, he's "planning tomorrow's show" for Around the NFL.  His Amos report has been disputed by multiple reporters already.  So, the person is legit, but his sources are, at the very least, in conflict with the sources of others.

The interesting thing is, I think this may actually be Richie Todd who was the (really terrible) QB for the Jets back in the mid 60's (the guy that caused them to go after Namath).   Not sure how genuine his "player personnel and scouting" creds are (could honestly be at the D2 or D3 level or even USFL/AFL/CFL for all we know since he's old enough and his pro career petered out so quickly (if he is who I think he is).

Reality is, reporters are going to report what they hear if a source they feel is credible (or has been in the past) is giving them a lead.  That lead doesn't always materialize.  And that's not the reporter's fault so long as they report that they're "hearing per a source."  Their job at this stage of the offseason is to draw as much attention and keep people checking their publication's feed as often as is credibly possible.  And "trust" for sources is a wholly subjective matter.  Some guys trust agents more than others or than they probably should.  Same with certain folks within front offices - who are definitely not above feeding false info to try and steer events to go in their favor (though that tends to happen more in the draft part of the offseason than FA, at least from the FO end).
