onejayhawk
Do we even need him? We have Jones (eventually), Clark, Okafor, Ogbah, Speaks and TK in addition to the wide bodies. J

Do we need him? No. But given the type of talent Spags had when he was most successful, more bodies on the DL are exactly the target. He'd probably push either Xavier Williams or Justin Hamilton off the roster. And help minimize Saunders snap count if he isn't ready to contribute day 1. valkrei
https://www.arrowheadpride.com/2019/8/8/20792528/film-review-chiefs-cb-morris-claiborne We got him cheap great #2 and depth. This is a good move.
HolmesPriest
Ye, I like the signing of the veteran corner. He will be out the first 4 games, but could provide some good leadership for some of the younger guys.
onejayhawk
I would not call it a great move, but I cannot argue with the price. Claiborne is probably older than you think. He used to be fast but he was never quick. That said, he's a savvy veteran and size doesn't get tired. At this point he is much better suited to the new DB scheme than the last one. That said, four games is a quarter of the season. At least he should be fresh in October.
onejayhawk
New article on Claiborne from Craig Stout at Pride. As usual, Stout does an outstanding job.https://www.arrowheadpride.com/2019/8/8/20792528/film-review-chiefs-cb-morris-claiborne The bottom line is that Claiborne has very good hand an ball skills and can matchup with big WR, eg Kelvin Benjamin. He is not so good on the speed routes and has a history of being penalty prone. He's a good man to have as the #2 guy.
Chiefer
I think he provides solid competition back there. Is he allowed to practice now or does he have to wait till after week 4?

Preseason, practice, meetings, all a go until the league considers the regular season to have actually started.

onejayhawk
It would not surprise me if that were not a factor in him signing here vs somewhere else. J
