2019 Raider Depth Chart Thread

the way I see our DE unit:

  • Josh Mauro- younger/bigger version of Frostee Rucker.... DE who be used to hold the edge, stop the run. Optimal for 1st/2nd down...
  • Arden Key- I could see him being a nice compliment to Mauro. Key comes in during obvious pass plays. At only 22, Gruden might be expectating progression from Key in year
  • Benson Mayowa- a big upgrade over Calhoun... Calhoun doesn't seem like an NFL player only 0.5 sacks in 3 years. Mayowa had 4 sacks last year, and more pressures according to PFF. Explosive and in his prime, NFL player. Good rotation piec

Outlook: I still see Raiders drafting another DE and have Mayowa compliment the rookie off the bench. Could easily add 2 DEs for depth and competition, as Barrett is a JAG

I doubt we keep both Joseph and Abram. Both are pure SS’s.

I think you're right, but if Abrams offers a bit more versatility to be somewhat of a hybrid player, I could see him being kept around. This season at least.

They will both be on the team next year. But i doubt KoJo's 5th year option is picked up.

I just don't see it with the signings this offseason. If the Raiders can get anything for him I'm sure they'd be into moving him. I can't imagine they would want Joseph starting over Abrams, and both Harris and Riley are cheaper options at nickel safety.

Nailed it, see it the same way.

Really because for me. Unless we take a CB at 35 our secondary looks locked in as:

Base Starters
CB1 Conley
CB2 Worley
FS Joyner
SS Joseph

Nickel Starters
CB1 Conley
CB2 Worley
NCB Joyner
FS Joseph
SS Abrams

Sounds exciting to me. Especially if we can get Greedy and he can come in and start day 1.

@OG_C2X i dont have an issue with your proposition but I also wouldn't mind sliding Abrams in as all-time SS and moving Harris in at the FS slot. Would love to snag a 4th like @BayRaider has been saying and get depth elsewhere while shedding KJ's salary.

Why would we not put KJ next to Abrams?
