Hey Rams Fans, here is another mock offseason where I feel that we would surely be back in the Super Bowl .

I have been a huge fan of Mark over the years, but it's just time for a change. We need a real run stopper in the middle next to Littleton.

In this scenario the Rams are able to come to an agreement on two very fair and reasonable deals for Dante and Roger. With Whitworth coming back for one more run, this gives us the same starters once again on offense. We decide to let Joyner, Suh and Shields go in order to take advantage of the  free agency opportunities.

 

Signing

 

FS Eric Weddle

 

I loved this signing by the Rams, we grabbed a veteran quarterback for Wade's defense in the backfield. Wade should be able to maximize Weddle strengths very well and hide his aging in our defense. 

 

QB Blake Bortles

 

The Rams grab Bortles to be Goff's bag up and security blanket. Blake has had a lot of starting experience in this league, he could be a good veteran to feel in and try to redeem himself if needed.  The Rams decide to sign him to a cheap deal while his stock is so low right now.

LA Rams trade Round 1 Pick #31

Jacksonville Jaguars trade Round 2 Pick #6 and Round 3 Pick #35

 

Rams  jump back in order to grab in other pick to try and feel in some gaps from their free agency losses. The Jaguars moved up for a guy that they have been targeting. 

 

 

Round 2 Pick #6   Jachai Polite-OLB, Florida

 

The Rams grab another defensive weapon for Wade Phillips in the top of the 2nd with 1st round talents. Now Wade will have another pass rush specialist opposite Fowler on pass rushing downs especially. Polite has the intangibles to be an absolute stud in the NFL. Jachai has a lot of Robert Quinn in him with the way he explodes off the ball and always goes for the strip sack. This will give Samson the option to play multiple spots giving Wade another piece to his board. Polite can learn the NFL speed while he comes in as a rotational rush specialist. This draft is giving Wade his best young and talented group of talent. Wade is trying to create another Denver Broncos Super Bowl winning Defense with Fowler on one side and Polite on another, them Gator Boys.

 

 

Round 3 Pick #31   Khalen Saunders-NT, Western Illinois

 

The Rams run up to the podium and grab another great value pick of the draft. We grab one of the best draft sleepers period. This kid will immediate come in and fill the whole left by Suh. Khalen is a big and powerful athlete with elite quickness and vision for his size. Saunders just manhandled the lineman in front off him with his explosive first steps. He is going to be a nightmare in the run and especially in the pass along side AD. Wade is so excited at the team that we our putting together. Now he can begin to duplicate his Broncos magic with a talent like Khalen in the middle.

 

 

Round 3 Pick #35   Darnell Savage-FS/CB, Maryland

 

Another great pick up for the Rams which will give us some much needed versatility and depth in the secondary. We grab a very talented safety to replace LaMarcus Joyner/ Weddle in the future. Savage is a playmaker who has elite speed and range, he is a hard hitter and has good vision. Wade can utilize Savage in his different packages where he is a safety, corner or extra coverage linebacker when needed. This could be another 3rd round steal at Safety like Johnson was a couple years ago.

 

Round 3 Pick #37   T.J. Edwards-ILB, Wisconsin

 

T.J. will come in and immediately compete with Micah Kiser for the ILB spot that is open from Barron's release. Edwards is an absolute tackling machine who has great vision and sheds blocks really well. Edwards will come in and help bolster the run defense, as he was great against the run and solid in coverage. T.J. has all the intangibles to be a really good inside linebacker in Wade Phillips defense.

 

Round 4 Pick #31   Rodney Anderson-RB, Oklahoma

 

The more and more film that I have watched on Rodney just gets me more and more excited. We grab another super talented playmaker that is only here this late in the draft possibly because of his injury history. If Anderson can stay healthy he would give McVay a very nice little rotational weapon whenever Todd needs a breather. This kid can be another nice running and pass catching weapon for us.

 

Round 5 Pick #31  Ross Pierschbacher-C/G, Alabama

 

The Rams decide to grab another very talented offensive talent in this years draft. Now Ross can come in and learn and compete with Brian Allen for the future starting spot. Ross is extremely talented, he is a very good run blocker and a good pass protector. Learning from the vets like Whitworth will serve him well.

 

 

Round 6 Pick #31  Easton Stick-QB, North Dakota State

 

The Rams take a flyer on a developmental QB late in the draft. He was a winner who made some very nice throws since Carson Wentz left. Easton has some explosive running ability and some nice intangibles in order for Sean to try and develop.

 

Round 7 Pick #37   Devon Johnson-OT, Ferris State

 

Devon will come in and learn behind Whitworth and Havenstein as a developmental swing tackle. Johnson played Left Tackle and he just absolutely dominated and man handled his opponents in front of him in division II. This could be another good rotational depth tackle for us.

I really like the Savage and Saunders picks. Savage has good tools that would benefit from a year behind Weddle.

Sanders is one of my guys.  So you know I love him.  The one thing he does lack though, that I feel like I'd like to add more of to our DL (because outside of Brockers we really lack it) is height.  If Kyler's coming into the division (granted, Russ has found a way to get around this, but it's not an easy thing for shorter QB's to break the habit of) and I still believe Jimmy the Greek is susceptible to this - I'd like to see us more capable of batting balls down.  That could just be a case of swinging on someone like Ryan Bee in UDFA or one of @jrry32's guy in Cortez Braughton - he's only 6'2" and change but he's got long-ish arms and great timing for knocking balls down, plus really nasty quicks for an interior guy.

The only one I'm not big on is Pierschbacher.  He's always been more of a JAG to me - which always tends to be the case for the not-so-toolsy Bama interior guys.  I'd rather target interior guys who play violent and aggressive and have to have the coaches scale that back if necessary, rather than worry about if a guy is going to have to be constantly fired up.  I don't know that by the time the 5th round hits we're going to be able to find interior guys who have experience at both guard and center, but as far as guys that have starter-level ceilings at OG who could give us the flexibility, if needed, to move Blythe in to center, check out Wake Forest's Phil Haynes.  No one talks about him, but in our scheme he's got a lot of potential and some really, really violent hands which I love.

Thank you for the response man, yes I kind of feel the same way about Pierschbacher. I would of lived to have chosed an different player like Jordan or McCoy but I just felt like they absolutely wouldn't be there. So I just went with best versatility available at that time. Yes Phil looks nice also, I hadn't heard anything about him before.
