Less explosive, more durable version of Pernell McPhee.

Hard to say that objectively when the only athletic testing he beat smith at was the 3 cone, which I might call more agility than explosive

No you're right, combine numbers trump a fan of the team who watches both players play every week.

Typical Ravens product who got a big pay day. Decent player worth half what he got.

Green Bay has to be the new Super Bowl favorite. Amos, Za’Darius Smith, and Preston Smith? And two first rounders?

Solid Green Bay FO. Ted Thompson could care less about winning.

You call them Superbowl favorites every single year. They could cut every player but Rodgers and sign all AAF players and you'd call them favorites.

to go from 6 wins to Super Bowl favorites is a pretty big jump.

having watched every game of each of their ravens careers, mcphee was 100% undeniably more explosive as a pass rusher.

za'darius is more consistent and more relentless after his first move is countered, though. he's not a bad player by any means, i think you can count on anywhere from 7-10 sacks from him a year.

Well, yeah. Facts will always trump opinion.

It may be factually correct that Smith ran a faster 40 time at the combine than McPhee did as a draft prospect.

It's also a fact that, during their best years, McPhee was clearly a more explosive player on the field. No one who watched both players would say otherwise.

I appreciate your OPINION on both players.

Combine statistics do not accurately represent game speed. And I can vouge for the "less explosive, more durable" statement.

Is it though? I don’t think we are super bowl favorites but if stuff hits right with the new HC, Rodgers healthy and the defense improving with these additions, we could easily be SB favorites. That said, it could just as easily go the other way.

Yeah howd he do at a media event versus how he performs? Stop it.

Facts are he had one season that was good and got paid as if it was the norm. Very typical for ravens players, so much so that espn is saying the same thing *gasp*

Players routinely get paid on future expectations. The expectations are high. He had very very good pressure numbers. Look, if it was any other team, I’d be skeptical so I get it.
