id expect it to be more of the texans trade of brock then our trade of gabbert

Yeah, we'll see.

Doubt we move any of our top 3 picks, but if we are targeting a guy or two in FA that's one way to open up space.

Yeah can't imagine any team taking on Blake's contract.

On a side comment about us not being able to find takers for Malik and Gipson...

Is it ok if I convince myself that we traded Malik for Foles? lol

Did we though? Foles cost more guaranteed and yearly so its not an exact comparison. Closer would be Jackson and Gip for Foles

Well you can't count Gip because he didn't go to the Eagles.

That's what I meant when I say looking at it like a "trade".

Like I'm gonna pretend the Eagles actually tagged him, and we said "listen, we'll give you Malik Jackson..."

And Eagles said "deal" as they traded him to us lol

What is the dead cap hit? I thought we were doing this in June?

You can designate post June cut at any point. However, we did not as we don't want the dead money counting against the 2020 cap. This is likely because we want to have extra room for the Ramsey contract --- this also gives us leeway in Ngakoue and Jack's contracts assuming we re-sign them before year's end as we can put a higher cap hit in 2020. Based on the new contract Bortles gets with a new team we can also get a cap credit for 2020.
