goldfishwars
The 49ers couldn’t sign Earl Thomas because they had thrown so much money at Kwon Alexander and that will never not be funny.
Raves
I'm sad, I really hoped the rumor of him to the Browns was true... Would've just been icing on the cake after the OBJ trade.

Who told you that? You think the 49ers are strapped for cash because of the Alexander signing?

Well either they couldn't afford him or prioritised Kwon, it's a really bad look both ways.

That is what is being reported by one of the top beat writers for the team. They're resigning Jimmie Ward, and maybe they'll get help in the draft. It's disappointing, but they didn't not go after Thomas because of Kwon Alexander's signing, or they were strapped financially. That doesn't make any sense given their cap situation, which is pretty good.
