Tyus is getting really really good at defending outside runs. That facet of his game keeps popping for me when I review these games. He's just too fast for lineman to get outside of and he sets a nice extended edge. As long as the backside pursuit is on time and the ILBs do their job, outside concepts to his side are getting shut down. Which is a major boon for our defense as teams are frequently running away from our two power porkers inside.

It's taken awhile, but Bowser is carving out a big role on this defense. Wink is weaponizing him more and more each week to great effect. He's delivering as a pass rusher, in coverage, and against the run. Just a super versatile and disciplined player. It's exciting to see. Remember he's like 6 months younger than Jaylon Ferguson too, only 24 years old. He's not a finished product by any means. He'll continue to improve, now receiving extensive playing time and still maturing physically/mentally. His trajectory is pretty exciting.

On the topic of Raven OLBs,

Happy for ZDS. Super underrated player on our defense last year, and a reminder that continually letting ascending players leave will eventually sting you- though our percentages in that regard are pretty good. :D  It's really too bad ZDS and Judon's tenures weren't switched around...

If you had to name a better AFC CB not named Stephon Gillmore, could you do it this year? Even on the NFC side of things you've got Richard Sherman and that's perhaps it? Idk, CB play seems to be really down this year with none of the big names (Ramsey, Peterson, Harris Jr.) playing well or playing at all due to various reasons.

Some people would say White. Marlon is also playing out of the slot this year though, to better accommodate Smith and Peters' skill sets. Despite him being way better outside. He's the strongest against the run out of all of them too, and now he's adding STs plays to his repertoire. Just a special special player. He had the best year of any CB last season too, no cap. Very similar to the year Gilmore is having now, it just flew under the radar. Catch Rate Allowed(19' Gilmore- 44.4% vs 18' Humphrey- 43.6%) and Yards Per Target(19' Gilmore- 5.1 vs 18' Humphrey- 5.7) are almost identical.
