MDSteeler1971
Not the greatest signing but they aren't just sitting on their hands.... https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2825604-steelers-rumors-wr-donte-moncrief-agrees-to-2-year-contract-with-pit https://www.behindthesteelcurtain.com/2019/3/14/18265162/report-steelers-add-wr-donte-moncrief-on-two-year-contract-nfl-free-agency-rumors-news-antonio-brown

jebrick
Another smart pick. I still think they draft a WR this year. The class is really deep.

Neumatic
I would have preferred Tate, but I’m good with it.
skywlker32
I really like this signing. This gives a deep threat (from what I remember about him) to draw some attention away. I suspect the contract is pretty cheap too.
AFF
Moncrief fits better with what they needed. im guessing the still get a WR by end of day 2. Id be amazed if they don’t go ILB/TE in some sort of combo in 1st 2 rounds in April.
VigilantZombie
I agree, ILB/TE seem like the logical choices now. I would still prefer to get maybe one more FA (Tre Boston?) but Nelson and Moncrief were really good additions.
Dcash4
Fits the bill of what we need on a team that has 1,000 slot receivers. Will be an outside, field stretching threat that should allow for more JuJu slot snaps.. Could be a decent redzone target too, which is what we will probably miss with Brown the most - even if he wasnt built like a RZ threat. Having said that.... I really don't like Moncreif. VigilantZombie
Would love us to get a cheap TE and Zack Brown and leave our options completely open for the 1st round. If they added Tre Boston too..zomg.
mwalker
Yea, this was a thread I was going to post, but since it's being discussed here... What does everyone believe our draft needs/order is now? I think Hockenson and Fant are real possibilities now, in RD1. Tricky part is neither will be around in round 2, and assuming we don't have a shot at D.White, D.Bush is likely gone in 1 as well, so I think it'd be hard to get both ILB and TE we want. A sleeper at TE is K.Warring from San Diego State in mid rounds. I also think if a top edge player falls (Burns?) we could go there. Safety is the wild card. AFF
Rumor is they’re trying to resign Fort Cap should get freed up today with Ben extension...his roster bonus is due tomorrow. Shoukd be interesting.
AFF
It still strikes me they interviewed literally every top 5 or so WR at combine. Pro Days attendance will be big indicator still.
VigilantZombie
Fort and Chickillo dont change our LB needs. Idk whats available for TE as far as FAs are concerned. To me, we need 2 ILBs and maybe an OLB. If we could get Boston and Brown we would have great position in the draft. I get the impression however that they believe Burnett will be better in his 2nd year with us. Think about it, Mike Mitchell was. If thats the case then id say Pittsburgh views their needs as LB and TE at this point. If we could extend Ben and get a guy at each of those positions that would be NEW to the roster, i would be more comfortable with our roster going into the draft.
