I have not done my research on RBs but I believe the best course of action is to draft a RB in the draft relatively early.

Clement would be our 2nd string and Adams, Smallwood and other training camp folks duke it out for the 3rd (and possibly 4th) spot

1st: relatively high draft pick

2nd: clement

3rd: Adams/Smallwood/other

the only wild card is Darren Sproles. Boul has to retire already.

I think a combination of TJ Yeldon and Justice Hill would be ideal.
Combine them with Adams, Clement (who will be PUP), Smallwood and Sproles (maybe).
By the time Clement is back Sproles will be hurt.
Hill will replace Sproles.
Yeldon, Adams and Clement will look like a Patriots backfield with Hill being James White-ish.
Smallwood will rotate in as necessary due to injury.

This is the future of RB.
The Eagles should continue to invest in the lines.
WR and LB are the exceptions.

This draft (in no particular order):  DE, DT, DT, LB, OL, RB, WR.

You wanna roll with 6 RB's? Hell with that. I only want 3.

1) Draft Josh Jacobs. Clement/Smallwood/Adams battle for #2 and #3.
Or
2) Sign Yeldon and draft Darrell Henderson. Clement/Adams/Smallwood battle for #3.
Or
3) Draft Darrell Henderson and one of David Montgomery/Devine Ozigbo/Alex Barnes. Clement/Adams/Smallwood battle for #3.

3?
Maybe Ironman, Superman and the Hulk.
There's bound to be injuries.

I would expect four with Clement on PUP.
He comes back to replace what is lost.

Jacobs comes too high in the draft to be a possible option.
Option 2 with an additional back seems more viable.
Drafting two RB's comes at the expense of other positions.

I see Adams and Smallwood competing for a spot, even if it is don't-sell-your-condo temporary.

I'm taking both Sony Michel and Rashaad Penny (1st round backs) before I would take Jacobs.

Hell I'm taking Mixon, Dalvin Cook (2nd round prospects from 2017)

He maybe a top 20 in this draft because this draft is so top heavy. It doesn't mean we have to take him with so many other young guys that could do the job. Trade back for more picks or trade up to get a coveted DL/OL.

It should be Adams over Smallwood in such a case. We're keeping Clement. Smallwood and Clement are both UFA after this season.

I don't get the Smallwood love? He sucks and has no buisness on this roster. Only Clement has earned that right. The rest can kick rocks for all I care!!!

Bring in 2 if not 3 new RB's, IMO.

he doesnt suck, but hes replaceable.

Nobody on this forum loves him, but Doug seemed to prefer him over Adams and Clement this past year, so he's probably not going anywhere.

I'd love 2 or 3 new RB's, as long as one of them is Darrell Henderson.
