Homie ate a massive shot yesterday and didn't drop the ball. Saw Lorenzo Alexander from the Bills laughing with him about it after the game too. Roberts has been better than advertised. With Brown's injury trends/potential, Boykin's inconsistency, a lack of other budding young options, and just as a need in general- it's not hard to see us targeting WR decently hard once again this coming offseason. Lamar is only going to continue to grow as an outside passer and we need to make sure he has competent options in-house. Luckily the 2020 draft will reportedly offer one of the best/deepest WR classes- ever, so we could have an opportunity to steal some falling talent.

Definitely agree that we're likely going to be on the lookout for wideouts again. It would be interesting to know what the organization thinks of Boykin as we near the end of Year 1 - a rookie wideout failing to immediately contribute isn't a death sentence but it did seem like in the summer they really did think he was going to be able to hit the ground running. At the very least I don't think we're going to be able to go into 2020 looking at Year 2 Boykin as a locked and loaded WR2 or WR3 in this team like we ideally would have hoped for. In addition to a deep draft class, I think we'll likely be players in the free agent/trade market at wideout as well, given that I think the real emphasis will be on bringing in higher end talent. Would not be surprised to see us in the AJ Green sweepstakes, and a YAC monster like Robert Woods could be a great fit for us as well if he ends up a cap casualty in LA.
AFlaccoSeagulls
If you told me "Marquise Brown, Lamar Jackson and Hayden Hurst have all had TD's of over 30 yards this year. Who hit the fastest MPH?" My guess would never ever be: "Hayden Hurst"

I'd like to see them break the Pats record for rushing yards, if possible, but not at the expense of exposing starters to injury in week 17. Agreed. Which is why it would be great to really overwhelm the Jets defense for something like 250+ rushing yards. If we could do that, I think without Myles Garrett as a disruptive force, we should be able to run over the Browns defense for 200+... especially considering our team will have had a week and a half of rest, and leave plenty of room to spare so as to break the record and get over 200+ yds for the season even with a Steelers lapse. I definitely think there’s a path to getting it done. Just need a little help with the Jets being the Jets and our offense coming to play. If we can force plenty of 3 and outs, we’ve got a chance. This week we can clench the division with a win and that weak we can clinch HFA with a win. So much motivation to go around in the next two games. I actually won’t be in the thread much (perhaps) to laud you with stats (🤓) as I’ll be at this Jets game. Figure Lamar is only 22 yds away from topping Vick and this is likely his last home game of the season playing throughout (if all goes to plan), so as part of his MVP tour, I should check it out. I’ve yet to watch him play live... I went to the Steelers game last year with Flacco. So this should be a treat. ... haven’t told my bosses that I’ll be skipping out a bit early, but I’ve already doubled my sales quota for the month so... what can they say. 😂

Danand
On that TD it is so obvious, that the linebacker respected the run threat so much, that he never dropped into his zone in coverage
SalvadorsDeli
Interesting thread on one way the Bills were trying to key in on our presnap trends and maybe a reason why they were able to slow us down a little bit more effectively. Would need to see more examples of this to know exactly how important it was to their run defense but certainly something for us to look out for. This probably explains why we seemed to run more misdirection counter style plays to try and adjust to the Bills overcommitting to the escort motion man. It was a smart move by the Bills but really doesn't seem like something that can fully bottle us up as long as we mix it up and punish teams by reversing the field with runs or passes to the weak side when they fully start swarming before the ball has even snapped. If that's set up as an option play and Lamar keeps it there he basically has one guy to beat and then 60 yards of daylight. If that's set up as an option play and Lamar keeps it there he basically has one guy to beat and then 60 yards of daylight. 2nd play highlighted here (around 1:52) is another run play where you see all of the linebackers shift to the left when Ricard comes in motion. On this one Lamar does keep it and run to the weak side. Play gets blown up because Stanley misses his block but if he seals off that defensive linemen then it's at least a 10-15 yarder given he just has a step on the DB and only has to beat him to the sideline. So a good example of the risks when just overcommit to the motion men. Think the Bills could halfway get away with it just because they have a fast and disciplined defense. AFlaccoSeagulls
I wonder if we'll start running more orbit stuff or half-orbit stuff because of this. Or just basically start running counters off of it.
drd23
Went pretty much unnoticed during the game, but MAndrews set a franchise single season record for TDs by a TE
