Team needs:  With the signings of Preston Smith and Za'Darius Smith, Edge isn't that much of a need.  Amos helps at Safety, but we could still add another.  I would like to see Gute add two defensive players to finish off the defense, ILB Zack Brown and Tra Boston S.  So, if this is completed, IMO we need to add 1 Edge, 1 Safety and 1 DL in the draft.

Lewis fits the TE position need as a blocker, Tonyan has been working out with George Kittle over the off season, really don't know what we will have with him.  So, TE, IMO is the #1 need.  OL, both G spots could use some upgrade and Bulaga's injuries leave some doubt about RT.  So, IMO, OL is the #2 need.  So, with this in mind, here is my latest mock draft.

My team needs are as follows, TE, OL, DL, Edge, DB, RB, WR

#12.

Jonah Williams NFL

Scouting Report: Jonah Williams

2019 NFL Mock Draft

DraftGeek’s 2019 Mock Draft

School: Alabama Position: Offensive Tackle Class: Junior Height: 6-5 Weight: 296 lbs Projected Draft Round: 1-2

Scouting Report:

Experience at both tackle positions, Williams has played well against some of the top pass rushers in college. Has the frame to continue to add bulk, but has anchored well against stronger defenders thus far. Has good length, and moves well laterally. Will need to add some more lower body strength to hold up at the next level, but has the frame to carry it.  (According to Lindy's sports, OT position gets a C- grade.  So if we want to add depth and strengthen the OL, they need to do it sooner, not later.  Sounds like a coaches kind of player leadership and demeanor fits, slides into G.)

#30.  T.J. Hockenson NFL

Scouting Report: T.J. Hockenson

2019 NFL Mock Draft

DraftGeek’s Mock Draft

School: Iowa Position: Tight End Class: Sophomore Height: 6-5 Weight: 245 Projected Draft Round: 1-3

Scouting Report:

One of the best, if not the best run blocking tight end prospect. Sets his feet quickly, and doesn’t lose balance when shuffling right to left back or forward while blocking. Gets his hands locked and is relentless with his blocking assignment through the whistle. Able to find defenders to block at the next level in space as well, and takes good angles to seal off running lanes. As the season progressed, showed off remarkable ability to catch the ball as well, making him one of the most well rounded tight end prospects in the draft.  (Yeah, seems to be forum favorite.  Fits all the needs for the new system.  Could very well be gone by #30 and maybe even #12.  Just pray that he falls.)

#44.  Dalton Risner NFL

Scouting Report: Dalton Risner

2019 NFL Mock Draft

DraftGeek’s Mock Draft

School: Kansas Sate Position: Offensive Tackle Class: Senior Height: 6-5 Weight: 300 Projected Draft Round: 2-3

Scouting Report:

A modern right tackle prospect that projects more of a pass protector than a road grader run blocker. Excellent against speed, with great feet and balance. Sets quickly and isn’t easily put into bad position by crafty pass rushers. Uses his hands well, and while he doesn’t overpower opponents, he uses his length to keep pass rushers at bay. Superb ability to get the next level, and pulls well. Not going to be that bulldozer right tackle that was coveted years ago, but is a fit at right tackle in today’s game.  (One of my favorite OL players, offers a future RT in 2020, in 2019 offers depth at C/G and T.  Again, another player that might be gone before this pick.)

#75.  Joe Jackson NFL

Scouting Report: Joe Jackson

2019 NFL Mock Draft

DraftGeek’s Mock Draft

School: Miami Position: Defensive End Class: Junior Height: 6-5 Weight: 258 Projected Draft Round: 2-4

Scouting Report:

A truly gifted athlete, Jackson has depended on his natural athletic ability so far during his college career. He has excellent length and superb balance that allows him to gain leverage on the edge. As a run defender, he anchors surprisingly well, and has a lot of upside if he can learn to use his feet better. A high upside edge rusher that an NFL team will need a year to develop.  (Here's the one Edge player to add depth.)

#114.  Isaiah Buggs NFL

Scouting Report: Isaiah Buggs

2019 NFL Mock Draft

DraftGeek’s Mock Draft

School: Alabama Position: Defensive Tackle Class: Senior Height: 6-4 Weight: 295 Projected Draft Round: 3-5

Scouting Report:

An experienced and extremely strong defensive lineman that appears to in between multiple ideal positions at the next level. Country strong, with powerful hands, when he is operating at top gear he is a force not be trifled with. Can toss aside bigger offensive lineman when using his hands to throw them off balance. What he lacks is the burst that is going to be measured throughout the draft process. He simply lacks consistent explosiveness. With his talent, and elite strength, and ability and experience in playing on the outside and on the inside, will find a home in a scheme that will focus his skillset.  (Add depth to the DL, give him a year to add 10-15lbs and we have a good 3-4 DE.)

#118.  Jaquan-Johnson-S-Miami-1.jpg?zoom=0.9024

Scouting Report: Jaquan Johnson

2019 NFL Mock Draft

DraftGeek’s Mock Draft

School: Miami Position: Safety Class: Senior Height: 5-11 Weight: 190 Projected Draft Round: 3-5

Scouting Report:

A bit small, but plays with a high motor and keen instincts. Uses his hands well and wraps up tackles securely. Seems to work best in zone; lacks the range that would be needed to play single high safety or a lot of deep coverage. Most effective against the run.  (Amos, Boston, Jones and Johnson cover the safety positions)

#150.  2019 NFL Mock Draft - Rodney Anderson

Scouting Report: Rodney Anderson

2019 NFL Mock Draft

DraftGeek’s Mock Draft

School: Oklahoma Position: Running Back Class: Junior Height: 6-1 Weight: 218 lbs Projected Draft Round: 2-3

Scouting Report:

After being injured his first two seasons at Oklahoma and not being used much early in this season, Anderson emerged as one of the most productive and dynamic running backs the second half of this season. He is a do it all back that is deadly in the open field where he can quickly change direction and get into top gear after a cut. A power back with speed, he is a weapon in the passing game with good hands and can make the catch and effortlessly transition to making yards after catch. He was briefly charged with rape, but the charges were dismissed and he passed a lie detector test. However, that will be heavily scrutinized by teams going into the draft. A potential super sleeper prospect that will need to have a clean draft process, but if he does, could be a steal in the draft.  (Could be a draft and stash player for 2020.  If healthy, could be a solid #2 or #3 RB.  Slides do to health concerns.)

#185.  Drew Sample NFL

Scouting Report: Drew Sample

2019 NFL Mock Draft

DraftGeek’s Mock Draft

School: Washington Position: Tight End Class: Senior Height: 6’4 Weight: 260 Projected Draft Round: 4-7

Scouting Report:

An all around tight end that is at his best when operating more of a fullback than a tight end. Is able to contribute in the passing game, and appears to be a dependable receiver, especially if asked to run short rounds, sit down in coverage and post up the defender. Very good lead blocker, but would need to continue to add strength and technique to be a plus inline blocker.  (Double dip here, PS player to replace Lewis in 2020.)

#194.  Tyler Jones NFL

Scouting Report: Tyler Jones

2019 NFL Mock Draft

DraftGeek’s Mock Draft

School: N.C. State Position: Offensive Guard Class: Senior Height: 6-3 Weight: 305 Projected Draft Round: 4-7

Scouting Report:

Played left tackle at NC State, but will move inside at the next level. Could be asked to play either guard or center in the NFL, and will probably be worked at both positions at the next level as a versatile interior lineman that can switch positions when needed. Won’t wow scouts during the draft workouts, but tape is consistent and impressive. A team with a zone heavy scheme that moves their offensive linemen around a lot will have him earmarked as a mid to late round sleeper.  (Depth OL, another player that could play all 5 OL positions.  PS player to get ready for 2020.)

#225.  Josiah Tauaefa

Scouting Report: Josiah Tauaefa

2019 NFL Mock Draft

DraftGeek’s Mock Draft

School: UTSA Position: Inside Linebacker Class: Junior Height: 6’1 Weight: 240 Projected Draft Round: 4-6

Scouting Report:

Extremely high character on and off the field, a tackling machine with outstanding instincts. Able to control the gaps in front of him using his greatest gifts on the field – awareness and instinct. Able to follow through his ability to diagnose plays with excellent tackling ability.  (Depth player, ILB group would be Brown, Martinez, Burks and Tauaefe.  Another player I like is Ben Burr-Kirven at ILB, but probably will be gone well before this pick.)
