It's not shocking, it's what always happens when the team has a winning culture.  It's a world class city.  It's the charter franchise, it's a great fanbase, and unlike NY and LA, its not a split fanbase.  It truly is a bears town.  Now we have a young energetic coach and GM, and owner that's willing to open the checkbook (seriously, not enough is talked about what's going on at HH right now). This has the makings of a great team for years to come, and we wont have the challenges teams like GB and Pitt have in trying to convince guys who want to make themselves marketable brands to live in an afterthought of a city.

I think what young guys don't always realize is that on field success in Chicago leads to long term opportunities after football in ways that it doesn't in most other cities.

Urlacher for example can always make money in Chicago.  He will never be broke for long no matter what he does because he can always get something going locally in some capacity.

If you have personality you don't even have to be a star.  Look at Waddle or Bufone.

Guys on current team that are set are Hicks, Mack, Cohen, Long probably.  Now Mack is set anyway, but just saying.  Cohen may never get a huge payday, but he will always be able to find work or opportunities post football locally because he was small in a land of giants and has dynamic personality.

MT only needs one or two real good seasons and he is good.  McMahon is nuts and nobody likes to deal with him and he still makes money.

Good point.  Here's some updates on the renovations that will create a more state of the art facility for players, media, and fans.
