Updated Mock after major FA/Trades

I typically provide explanations, however, this is sort of an in-between mock for me. I'll release one with explanations once FA is truly done, and then a final one the day prior to the draft when we all know more. I expect some more moves to happen prior to the draft.

That being said, a few key points to note that help me govern the way I mock certain teams

  • Teams, in my opinion, are in 1 of 4 stages at all times (or in transition from one to another, transitions don't last more than a year usually)
    • You Don't have a qb
    • Your QB is on contract 1
    • Your QB is on contract 2
    • Your QB is good enough he made it to contract 3

In stage 1, you do one of 2 things - you take a QB or the BPA

In stage 2, you do everything you can to help your QB succeed

In stage 3, you put too much on the QB because you gave him a massive payday, so you see if he sinks or swims while building a defense

In stage 4, your QB swam, you should be competing for a title, you go BPA or fill any massive needs

Or you're the Oakland Raiders, and DGAF about anything (Stage 5)

I'll note each's situation after the pick in (#), some are kind of inbetween or unique. Hope you enjoy.

Now to the draft -

I'd go. Ed Oliver. DL  BPA  Noah Fant TE instead of making a play for a center we already have in place.

I have him at Guard rather than center in this scenario

If the Titans took Ferguson that high with guys like Burns, Bradbury, Lawrence, and even Fant on the board, I’d rage. Ferguson to me is a solid player but that’s way too high for him especially with his measurables.

I hear you. I also feel like there is always an unexpected pick or pick viewed widely as a reach in the first round, and there's a few teams that are notorious for them in my opinion. Those teams are the Seahawks, Patriots, Titans, & Raiders.

I try to Always mock an unpopular pick in my first rounds to one of those teams. It's a need position for Tenn, and I'm hearing that Ferguson is more highly touted than is being talked about. You talk about measurables for him, but if that means size, he's bigger than Burns I believe, at least in terms of weight.

The pick may change for me, let's see what the next few weeks bring.

I like the trade down and the pick for Denver. I however don’t like losing three picks in a trade down for two.

Trading 2 to receive 3...
