Cowboys & Rams to play in Hawaii on August 17th

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. -- The Los Angeles Rams and Dallas Cowboys will play a preseason game in Hawaii on Aug. 17, the Rams announced Thursday.

The game will take place in Honolulu at Aloha Stadium, which served as the longtime home of the Pro Bowl until the exhibition game moved to Orlando, Florida, in 2016.

The Rams and Cowboys squared off in the divisional round of the playoffs last January. The Rams defeated the Cowboys 30-22 on their way to a Super Bowl LIII appearance.

The Rams and Cowboys also are scheduled to meet in the 2019 regular season.

A trip to Hawaii is the latest in a long list of preseason adventures for the Cowboys. Under owner and general manager Jerry Jones, the Cowboys also have played preseason games in London, Toronto, Tokyo, Mexico City and Monterrey.

Last season, the Rams traveled to Baltimore to hold joint practices with the Ravens before a preseason matchup.

Wouldn't mind going to Hawaii and killing two birds with one stone...

If they’re planning on starting a team in Hawaii, I’m going to take one for the team and apply to be the water boy.

Always nice to see the game go to different locations. Give fans a chance to see the game that they probably wouldn't get any other way.

Yeah it's good to do in the preseason.

The NFL should put a team in Hawaii way before Mexico or London as it seems they’releaning towards...

I’d love to see expansion to 35 teams.

Put a team in Hawaii, St Louis & Alabama or Oklahoma City.

Then, go to 5 divisions only with 3 teams in each.

@turtle28 it's all about the money and there simply isn't enough people in the islands to support an NFL team.

Imagine being an east coast team and having to fly 11+ hours

Just not going to happen

I'd love to see Hawaii maybe get a 2nd preseason game, along with Mexico City, Toronto, Vancouver, Japan, Germany etc. having preseason exhibitions. Presumably you could have them open up the preseason.

Dawg we couldn’t even get the state to like a football all star game, what’s gonna make people care about an entire nfl team there?

Hawaii or Canada. That’s a tough decision.

Rumors have the Raiders playing a game in Regina, Saskatchewan at Mosiac Stadium (33,500-40,000) for preseason

Very true, but if Hawaii is selling out a preseason game, wouldn't they regular season?

Also, OKC & Bama would def draw crowds. IMO

Just look at Thunder games

It’s about TV ratings. Chargers have a soccer stadium right now, but they care fine due to views.
