Smiths best year the first 6 is Carr's worst. Carr is better than Smith according to STATISTICS and younger on a better trajectory but facts suck but not as much as Raider fans who turn on their players while they are still on the team.

Yes DC needs to do better but he's not as bad as many make him out to be and he'll probably do better away from this team/fanbase. Fickle little *******

So you think Whitehead should be the starting linebacker for us next year. How bout joyner, you cool with him. Gabe should continue to get paid for average guard play. I mean we should never want to upgrade a position cause they still raiders right. 😏😏😏😏😏

If the opportunity to upgrade the QB position presents itself this offseason via the draft, free agency or a trade I have no doubts Mayock & Gruden will pull the trigger. As everyone who is in reality notes “he is who he is” he won’t take us to the promise land he doesn’t elevate anyone else’s play and rides the talent around him. His 6th year and no progress in areas that matter.

it would be very hard to pass on soo much talented guys this draft for a QB with our first pick but if somehow Tua is there. There will be no hesitation and he will be a Raider.

I'm all for upgrading Carr, but who are some realistic options for us? I would hate to just dump him without a viable replacement. Trust me, things can get a lot worse at QB.

Who can you guys see as realistic targets?

Trades:

Free Agency:

Draft (1st or 3rd rounds):

List them please.

I think we sign Mariota and keep Carr. If Carr struggles, Mariota gets his shot.

Who? Who? and Who?

Just because the answer isn't here in December doesn't mean there isn't a better option. A lot of transactions and evaluations need to take place before that choice. We don't even know who will be available next season

Sticking with Carr in 2020 as the unquestioned starter would send a bad message to the team next season and the fanbase. Could you imagine if the Ravens stuck with Flacco instead of drafting Jackson? Or KC hanging on to Smith instead of Mahomes? With players like Duck Hodges winning games in the NFL tells you that there are options out there

It is best we part ways with Carr and start fresh.

The Ravens and Chiefs didn't cut Flacco and Smith when they drafted new QBs. Throwing a rookie QB into Gruden's offense would be a disaster. If we go with a rookie he needs time to learn on the bench.

How do you know putting a rookie in Gruden system would be a disaster? Because of what happened with Chris Simms?

We actually have a solid building blocks on offense to insert a rookie QB with potential to be elite.

Well I think you answered your own question.

I don't think I did. You know who has a lot of 4th quarter comebacks? Andy Dalton. Is he a winner? No.

Most those comebacks were against middling teams and bad teams in the division. Carr doesn't beat good teams.

This is one giant contraction of a post.

Not really. He had some nice comeback wins against poor teams. A lot of the time, those come backs happened after playing soft and giving up a lead in the first place vs. burying the opponent when they had the chance.

Nothing about that makes him a true winner. You can win some games but still not be a winner. Those two things are not exclusive.

I think he can lead a team to the playoffs. You have to build your team to complement what he is though. That's why we invested in the oline and why we picked Jacobs in the 1st. You can't put too much on his shoulders because he's not elite. The Titans and the Vikings are probably headed to the playoffs with the same identity. Strong running game and balanced offense. I don't think their QBs are much better than Carr, if any.

And the Vikings and Titans will be quick outs in the playoffs, because QBs are often the difference in the playoffs. Some exception, but the consistently good teams (the ones who make the playoffs regualary) have a QB.

Yes the Titans and Vikings will make the playoffs, but they are the type team (ala last years Bears) that fall off the next year because QB play just isn't good enough to sustain them

We just gave up 42 to the Titans, but yea, let’s focus on getting rid of Carr.

He took a team to the playoffs with Jack Del Rio, and an OK defense, for those that say he needs everything perfect around him. Latavius Murray was his RB by the way, far from perfect.

we laterally have guys off the street playing defense right now, a group of UDFA WRs, but let’s draft a QB....
