Golfman
Anybody prepared to give this guy 15-18 million a year on an extension? That seems to be the going rate for a guy like Grady Jarrett and Clark is at worst the player Jarrett is. That's a whole lot of coin for a guy who hasn't exactly torn it up rushing the passer. He's a beast in the run game, but 15-18 million? http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000001024621/article/projecting-longterm-extensions-for-franchisetagged-players
Cadmus
He'll absolutely be worth it... Extension will lower the cap hit next year by 2-3 million... And then the cap should be (give or take) 1 Billion Dollars by 2021.

PossibleCabbage
I mean, you have to spend a certain amount of money (and they don't give out prizes for being the furthest from the cap) so would you rather pay Kenny Clark or hope to find another nose tackle just as good in free agency or the draft? I mean, the dude will turn 24 in October. It's not like he's not going to continue to improve.

spilltray
He has plenty of pass rush ability for an interior DL. Don't confuse sack # with effective pressure.
coachbuns
We are always looking for top notch quality defensive players who are young, produce and fit our system. Why in the heck wouldn't you sign him as he fits the bill on all counts? That would check off one need for the next 4-5 years and we move on to bigger fish to fry. rcon14
This isn't an exaggeration at all... I fully expect him to be the best NT in the NFL.
vegas492
He's a must to re-sign. Who is the last GB first round pick to play as good as Clark has (longevity)? Clay? Bulaga? We haven't found many like him and he's still getting better. He's a "core" player moving forward, for sure.
MacReady
Not exactly torn it up rushing the passer? He's increased his sack total each year he's been a pro, and that's also not his job. Judging Kenny Clark on his sack production is like judging a safety for tackles for loss. It's really not an indication of how well they're doing their job when it's not their job. There is one player over 310 pounds who had more sacks than Kenny Clark last year. Just one. Akiem Hicks for the Bears, and he had 1.5 more sacks than Clark did. You think if Clark had Khalil Mack rushing from the EDGE he might have lucked into a couple more sacks? Kenny Clark's pass rush is about as good as you can possibly ask for from a guy his size. I hate this damn obsession with a nose tackle's pass rush ability so bad. Haloti Ngata was a 5 time pro bowl NT, 2 time first team all-pro, 3 time second team all-pro and he had 32.5 sacks in 13 seasons. That's an average of 2.5 sacks a season. He never in his career reached 6 sacks like Clark just did, and Clark did it on a team that couldn't stop Josh effing Rosen and the worst team in the league from passing. MacReady
Kenny Clark is arguably Ted Thompson's second best first round pick. He's got Hall of Fame potential, and if we start winning rings and he sticks with us, he'll probably go there. And you want to talk about his pass rush?
