CAS22
I'd imagine the club options at the back are for $30MM+ each. Still a great deal for the Braves. EDIT: Wow, what a deal. Edited April 2, 2019 by CAS22

MWil23
Why couldn't Francisco Lindor have been this stupid 2 years ago?

Nevermind, just read that it's 10 years and up to $124 million with the 2 team options. Yeah, that's a steal barring a freak injury Edited April 2, 2019 by THE DUKE Read more about the deal

devils1854
The two options being 17 million give the Braves a lot of leverage for the next contract when he is 28 and the 8 years are up.

mse326
I'm a big believer that the player is the employer of the agent so that the agent can't tell him what to do, only suggest. That bad decisions are ultimately the players bad decisions. But we all know the agent wields great influence and therefore people will look at this when considering whether to retain the agent's service. If I'm this his agent I'm quitting his service. 1) this makes me look terrible hurting my credibility with other clients and potential clients and 2) I already get the money for negotiating this contract so it's not like I'm leaving any money on the table until 10 years from now.

devils1854
year 1-550k year 2-550k year 3-11 mil year 4-16 mil year 5-22 mil year 6-30 mil Let say Acuna breaks all records for arbitration. He would probably be looking at around 80 million in his 6 years. He signed for 100 for 8. He is probably bypassing 40-50 million by doing this, but he is playing with his best friend(who will get a contract soon), and he is getting paid his first two years instead of making the minimum. Yeah, its a discount, but no matter what he got, unless it was ungodly, it would be less than what he is worth WAR wise.

tom cody
What a great deal for the Braves. One of the best young players in the game signed long term for a great team-friendly deal.
