Jaguars sign RB Benny Cunningham

Is he even functional depth as a RB anymore?  Basically smells like a ST signing who happens to be a RB.  What are we even doing collecting all this junk at RB?  You can't meld Rawls/Blue/Cunningham together to create one decent RB.  That's not how it works.  It's just cluttering things up with numbers of bad RBs who you don't really want to ever see as RBs.

These are likely damn near minimum deals...

Good ST'er that can catch out of the backfield. Not sure why you'd be against bringing a guy in and seeing if he sticks as a solid special teamer/depth.

Sure, great, he's a fine ST player.  Presumably a cheap deal, etc.  But taken in wider context...they're just collecting bottom of the barrel depth RB options, as a regime who have a track record of completely whiffing on estimating the sort of quality and depth they need to sustain a strong running game.

It's like the Blue deal.  Nobody gives a hoot about a cheap RB depth signing.  It's what this collection of Cunningham/Blue/Rawls insinuates about where their head is at on the RB depth chart...that's the thing that sucks.  Instead of signing a quality #2/Tandem RB...they're just futzing about collecting old fringe roster guys and STers who are RB in name only.

Setting themselves up to be once again, ever so frustrated and annoyed when Fournette turns out to not be 100% reliable while carrying the ball 20+ times a game every week.

How do you even know he was signed to be anything for us at RB?

If we're getting this up in arms about a likely damn close minimum deal who is known as a ST'er and probably not someone who will have a big role if any in the offense unless he probes worthy we have far bigger problems here.

Unless there is some serious bad blood(worse than we already know) i feel like we should bring him back if the money is right. He is easily better than anyone we have not named LF and its not even close. I wonder if he simply wants too much $$ because he is alot better than several other backs getting deals

I mean, if we sign some other RBs that very clearly push all of these guys either off the roster, or strictly to ST duty, that's great.  Their past performance with this stuff makes me skeptical that's going to happen is all.  I'm "up in arms" about it, because it looks frustratingly like repeating a pattern that there's really no reason to continue.

why havent we resigned yeldon at this point. at this point hes still out there. i get coughlin is mad at him but i mean at this point u could probably get him on a 1 year 2 million deal.

Yeah.  Have to wonder if it's pettiness from the brass, or asking for too much or what.  He'd be the sort of RB that we could be signing for not much more than this collection of fringe guys, but is actually a serviceable #2RB.

Yeldon was a problem in the locker room. Pretty well documented. It's pretty obvious why he isn't being brought back...

Good coaches don't just burn bridges with talent because they're a "problem".  They work on fixing it the problem.
