1. Arizona Cardinals – QB, Kyler Murray, Oklahoma

 

Worst kept secret - Kliff Kingsbury loves Kyler Murray, I am of the belief that you can win with Kyler. His ability to make out-of-structure plays is top notch, he is certainly the most athletic passer of the group, and has a strong arm. He may not be as accurate as his Oklahoma predecessor and former #1 pick Baker Mayfield, but hey - it only takes one team.

 


2. San Francisco 49ers – DE, Nick Bosa, Ohio State

 

Throw needs out the window; this one's a no brainer. Bosa is the best player in the draft and pass rusher is the most important position on a defense. Check and check. Bosa will be a rock and force for the 49ers for years to come

 


3. New York Jets – OLB, Josh Allen, Kentucky

 

Jets grab a really nice combination of need and fit for new DC Greg Williams defense. Unbelievable blend of speed, bend, and hustle, really nice piece for Gang Green here.




4. Oakland Raiders – DT, Quinnen Williams, Alabama

 

Raiders get some much needed depth in the trenches with Williams here, who has enough talent to be the best overall player most years. A super-productive, highly mobile 300 pounder, Williams will be a really nice rock for Gruden's defense

 


5. Tampa Bay Buccaneers – DT, Ed Oliver, Houston

 

The more I think about this the more I love this fit. New DC Todd Bowles is looking for speed, and Oliver can provide a ton of that up the middle. The future is bright for the defensive interior - Vita Vea is a mammoth of a man who eats blockers, and Ed Oliver is your gap shooter quick-twitch moveable piece. Ohhh yea

 

6. New York Giants – QB, Dwayne Haskins, Ohio State

 

Watch for the GMEN to commit to the rebuild here if none of the top defensive players fall to them at 6 - mainly Bosa, Allen, and Williams. In this mock, the Giants can grab their signal caller of the future without trading up. Haskins has a ton of arm talent and can learn under Eli Manning for a year before taking the job.




7. Jacksonville Jaguars – WR, DK Metcalf, Ole Miss

 

Perhaps a little high, but the fit seems strong. Metcalf can be that tall, rangy piece that the Jags are missing at WR, and oh-by-the-way he can absolutely blow the doors off a defense at the back-end. With a Fournette running game and a passing game with plenty of weapons - Foles has all the opportunities in front of him.




8. Detroit Lions – LB, Devin White, LSU

 

Matt Patricia runs to the podium with this one. Love the fit here as Jarrad Davis can move to weakside and White can man the middle. White and Davis will have plenty of room to make plays with Snacks Harrison clogging the middle, giving the Lions a chance to have a really solid defense.

 


9. Buffalo Bills – TE, TJ Hockenson, Iowa

 

Tyler Kroft? Please. The Bills give Josh Allen an awesome piece both in the pass game and in the blocking / run department. Hockenson will come right in and man the position for years, and give the Bills a pass catcher to boot.

 


10. Denver Broncos - QB Drew Lock

 

The Broncos signed Joe Flacco this year as a stop-gap solution, but make no mistake they are all over this QB class. Lock has all the tools to be a top-flight NFL starter, despite some questionable production last year he is in a really nice position to sit under learn for a bit before starting his quest to the Lombardi trophy.

 

11. Cincinnati Bengals – LB, Devin Bush, Michigan

 

The Bengals and Bush seem to be a perfect fit here. Bush is slightly undersized at his position but has the skill set to be an elite three-down linebacker in the NFL. The Bengals defense, one of the worst in run defense, has a desperate need for a stud linebacker here to slow down opposing teams.

 

12. Green Bay Packers – TE, Noah Fant, Iowa

 

Green Bay made some noise in FA by signing to above average pass rushers. With that being said the Packers address a clear weakness at TE. Fant has the athleticism and speed to compete in the NFL. He lacks the physicality with blocking in the run game but there is no doubt that this guy will produce in a big way from the get-go.

 

13. Miami Dolphins – DE, Montez Sweat, Mississippi State

 

Miami needs a pass rusher who can get to the quarterback consistently. The Dolphins were close to last in the NFL in sacks last season. Sweat is a guy who has a motor that is hard to stop. He consistently puts forth 100% effort in almost every play. His technique and athleticism help him succeed at the next level.

 

14. Atlanta Falcons – DT, Christian Wilkins, Clemson

 

Wilkins is a leader with great size and quickness to be disruptive in the run and pass game. The Falcons are in need of defensive line help and Wilkins can make an impact frome day one.

 

15. Washington Redskins- DE, Rashan Gary, Michigan

 

Gary is a freak athlete with great speed and quickness. Some are concerned with his injury history and lack of NFL IQ but there is no doubt that this guy has the tools to develop into a great talent.

 

16. Carolina Panthers – OT, Andre Dillard, Washington State

 

Dillard had a great combine and pro day. He has a very athletic frame and can move easily in protection. The Panthers need to protect their franchise QB and Dillard is one of the most complete pass blockers in this draft.

 

 

17. New York Giants (via Cleveland) – OL, Jonah Williams, Alabama

 

The Giants desperately need someone to step in at RT. Williams was dominant throughout college and will immediately help this Giants offense. After selecting Haskins with the number 6 pick the Giants look to help protect their investment by taking arguably the best offensive lineman in the draft.

 

18. Minnesota Vikings – OT, Jawaan Taylor, Florida

 

The Vikings need to solidify their offensive line. Taylor dominates the line of scrimmage with his size. He is able to toss defenders in the run game as well. He has the ability to wither be used on the interior as a guard or as a tackle. He will give an instant boost to the run and pass game for the Vikings.

 

19. Tennessee Titans- DE, Clelin Ferrell, Clemson

 

Ferrell would be a steal here. He is a young, strong, athletic player that will give the Titans defensive a major boost on the edge. Ferrell has the skills to be a top 5 rusher in the league.

 

20. Pittsburgh Steelers – WR, Marquise Brown, Oklahoma

 

The Steelers need to fill a void left by Antonio Brown. Marquise has a unique explosive playmaking ability that will easily fit into the Pittsburgh Steelers scheme. He is the most polished receiver coming into the league and will make an immediate impact on this pass happy team.

 

21. Seattle Seahawks- DE, Brian Burns, Florida State

 

Burns has been climbing up the draft boards because of his speed, burst, and versatility. He has been putting on weight and muscle bulk to silence the haters about his lack of size. His upside is sky high and he will fit well with this Seahawks team that could use a pass rusher alongside Frank Clark.

 

22. Baltimore Ravens- WR, N’keal Harry, Arizona State

 

The Ravens are clearly committed to Lamar Jackson as their future quarterback and even though this is clearly going to be a run first team, Harry still would be an excellent addition.  A dynamo in the red zone, the big-bodied Harry will step in from day 1 as a starter on this offense.

 

23. Houston Texans- OL, Cody Ford, Oklahoma

 

The Texans need to keep Deshaun Watson healthy and Ford can certainly help with that.  A massive human being with the ability to play both guard/tackle, Ford will become a valuable piece of this offensive line for a long time to come.

 

24. Oakland Raiders- CB, Deandre Baker, Georgia

 

A very reliable cover corner is Baker who was a stalwart of the Georgia Bulldogs and is the smart and savvy player that coaches are craving.  Baker does not have elite physical skills but makes up for it with intangibles and physicality.

 

25. Philadelphia Eagles- CB, Greedy Williams, LSU

 

An absolute steal this late in the draft and a very different corner then Baker who went one pick before. Williams had prototypical size for the corner position and had rare athleticism that allows him the potential to be a true number one corner for the Eagles.

 

26. Indianapolis Colts- CB- Byron Murphy, Washington

 

The run on corners continue and the Colts end up with Murphy who is on the smaller side but is a true ball hawk that will be able to play inside/outside on an improving defense.

 

27. Oakland Raiders- DL, Dexter Lawrence. Clemson

 

The Raiders are so devoid of talent at this point that they really need to hit on all three of these picks and grabbing Lawrence here adds to their impressive haul so far. Dexter is a behemoth that can cause havoc on the inside with his blend of size/skill.

 

28. Los Angeles Chargers- DL, Jerry Tillery, Notre Dame

 

The Chargers seem to be in the marker for a successor for Phillip Rivers but the chance to add another valuable piece to a roster that is very close to reaching the promise land is to good to pass up. Tillery has a great story and that story will continue in Los Angeles where he has the chance to cause chaos for quarterbacks from the jump.

 

29. Kansa City Chiefs- CB, Trayvon Mullen, Clemson

 

The Chiefs offense is out of this world with Mahomes at the helm and adding a player like Jacobs could be interesting but Mullen has all the tools to be a successful player in this league even though he had up and down play this year.

 

30. Green Bay Packers- OL, Dalton Risner, Kansas State

 

Rodgers is not getting any younger and the only chance the packers have to make some noise for the next few years is to protect him. Risner does not have the flash/upside as some of the other offensive lineman in this draft but has the make up of an above average starter for a long time.

 

 

31.  Los Angeles Rams- Edge, Jachai Polite, Florida

 

An undersized player but with off the chart athleticism, Polite will be able to do a lot of damage on this team with teams focused on Aaron Donald on the inside. Polite is a great get this late in the draft and adds to an already talented defense.

 

32. New England Patriots- TE, Irv Smith, Alabama

 

This pick just makes too much sense for the Patriots.  Gronk is gone and Smith is not the same player as Gronk but he can be effective as a blocker/receiver foe a team that is looking to repeat.

Given Marquise Brown is AB's cousin and they seem fairly close to one another, he would be on my do not draft list.

Taylor is not really a great scheme fit for Minnesota. But i cant argue with the pick, Vikings need OL and he's a really good RT prospect. Id be very happy if they took him. B+

I agree, the more the process goes along, the more I come back to Oliver (who I liked early in the process) over White. White has a high floor and a decent ceiling, but the ceiling for Oliver is off the freaking charts. I feel like we haven’t even seen half of this guy’s potential yet. I wouldn’t be sad at all to line him up next to Vea and (presumably at this point) McCoy. That’d be a nice front.

The Raiders do not need 2 DT right now they only have 2 DE on their entire roster they need Edge/DE not another Nose tackle we ha 2 right now and Q could play either 3t or Ot as well as 9t so we still need edge players and we would take Greedy over Baker as we play press/man not zone.

Greedy is a steal at 25 and a great pick based on your board.

The Packers haven't drafted a non-premium position in the first round since 2006 (Hawk), and they haven't drafted a WR/TE in the first round since 2002.  They sure as hell aren't going to start that now picking 12th overall to have TE be the future of the franchise on his second contract.  These mocks with the Packers taking Hockenson have got to stop.

Some different picks, but breaking away from groupthink on a few things is probably good.  Ferrell to the Titans makes the most sense with the players available here.  Good pick there.

Love Williams, like Baker but don't like the Lawrence pick. We already have high picks Hurst and Hall from last year to pair with Ellis and Hankins. Adding in Q pretty solidifies DT for a long time. Rather go another position.
