vike daddy
Quarterback Russell Wilson wants a new contract before April 15. If he doesn’t get one, Wilson very well could embark on a year-to-year approach under the franchise tag, with $30.34 million in 2020 becoming $36.4 million in 2021 becoming $52.43 million in 2022. Appearing recently on NFL Network, former Jaguars and Raiders coach Jack Del Rio offered a fairly bold prediction regarding a third possible option: “Don’t be surprised if before it’s all said and done when we line up for the season next year if Russell Wilson isn’t quarterbacking somewhere else and the Seahawks haven’t gone and gotten a quarterback they think for the future,” Del Rio said. https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2019/04/09/jack-del-rio-dont-be-surprised-if-theres-a-russell-wilson-trade/
footbull3196
If they’re not going to pay him, then yes
NJerseypaint
Who else are they going to pay? Bobby Wagner? This is silly.
TecmoSuperJoe
No. That would be stupid. Consistently top ten, sometimes top five quarterback in the NFL. Only 30. Never hurt. Super Bowl champion. Best passer, maybe best player they've ever had. Pay him, and don't think twice about it. You don't **** Wilson around like Allen did to Cousins. ET80
I'd chalk it up as a monumental failure by the Seahawks if it were to happen...but it could happen.

Danger
If the title of your thread needs to end in a question mark, the answer is probably, NO.
incognito_man
If Mack gets 2 firsts, I'd trade RW for the equivalent of 3 1sts or so. best way to get good again is to be bad, get draft picks, and get a good QB on a rookie contract to build a defense around. Seattle would know.

Everybody decried the Seahawks for moving on from Bennett, Sherman, Thomas, etc - the heart & soul of the Legion of Boom. But they did it anyways - and didn't suffer the apocalypse many here predicted. Pete knows college players and Schneider is a roster-churner par excellence On top of that, Wilson has his idiosyncrasies, which may or may not wear thin over time...Its not an absurd question to consider Should Seattle pay him the highest of the highest, or should they let somebody else do that ?Also noted: Paul Allen and his bottomless wallet aren't around anymore So which team has a boatload of 1st rounders and a HC with enough juice enough to pull it off ? (the news came from Del Rio, who may or may not have connections in Oakland)

Bruce Allen may still be an idiot, but not giving in to Kirk Cousins 100M contract demands might be the best move he's ever made. Or not made, that is. Wilson, however is worth it. N4L
They have no reason to tear the whole thing down. They made the playoffs last year and have some good, young talent on defense. Trading Wilson would be tearing it down. Having a competent OL coach (and therefore a competent OL) transformed their whole team. Being able to run the ball gave them a complimentary style If they were stuck in 7-9 purgatory? Then sure, that could make sense, but they actually have a solid young core and more importantly, a winning culture. As a Niner fan, I hope they do it
