Unless you know you're for sure getting a Gronk or Travis Kelce, most teams won't consider a TE in the first half of the first round.

Which is why I wouldn’t be surprised if Hock fell to the 19-24 range and was the only TE taken in the 1st Round.

It is far from unrealistic that actual NFL teams will have the same thought process as people on here in "there is no justifiable reason to take the tight end over the pass rusher, offensive tackle, or quarterback" .  Draft media doesn't usually account for positional value at all, and we see media folks have huge grades on tight ends who nonetheless go in the late teens or 20s.  Like is Hockenson really that much of a better prospect than O.J. Howard?  Daniel Jeremiah et al. had huge grades on Howard too and he too went 19th.

If he's there in the 20s, I hope we trade up to get him. His production is similar to OJ Howard in terms of averages (more TDs on about half as many games though), but it's his blocking ability that sells it. Not that Howard wasn't able to block, but I think Hock is about as close a replacement as we can get to Gronk. Maybe the league should start valuing that kind of tool higher. I don't know if he's a better prospect, no, but I still think he'll be top 15.
