2019 NFL Draft talk

Last season he had far and away the most big plays in College Football at something like I believe ?24? plays of 20+ yards. Huge homerun hitter.

He's electric on screens and dump-offs and while Malcolm is no slouch there, I haven't seen him do what I've seen Henderson do with screens and in space.

Copying what I posted on another site.

Big day! Started out with a few picks. Traded a bunch of times and got a few different picks :D

Taylor Rapp S Washington

Looks to be the eventual successor to Weddle and in the mean time will likely be the 3rd safety in those sets that Wade loves to put 3 out on the field. Can't help but feel this guy immediately upgrades our secondary.

Darrell Henderson RB Memphis

Playmaker! Looks to be depth behind Gurley and company. I'm betting he takes over return duties and we part ways with Natson who provided almost nothing outside of returns.

David Long CB Michigan

Might be my favorite pick! It's no secret I think we were in need of young talent at this position. Has the ability to play right now in the secondary and could succeed Talib when he's done. I also don't think this is the end of CB picks for us.

Bobby Evans T/G Oklahoma

Not somebody that was on many if any radars around here. Also the only player we drafted that we didn't work out. From what we're seeing and reading looks like the arch type Kromer Guard. Big strong and mean which could mean he's a bench guy this year and takes over for Noteboom next year or Blythe?

So what do you guys see for tomorrow? My list is simple. Another CB I think it's necessary as the talent behind the starters IMO is lacking. Edge with Fowler signed to one year it would possibly be somebody to compete with a pick next year and Obo. A G/C again we're likely needing 2 guards this year and the front offices MO is to draft for next year. Potentially an ILB with Littleton only signed to the 1 year tender and he could with another good year get signed to a fat raise. WR? We likely have our return specialist but depth is never a bad thing. And QB, Bortles signed to 1 year and who's behind him?

Thoughts?

So I’m just now seeing the trade when we traded up for Evans. Feel like we lost a lot of position to only move up four spots at the end of the third.

It was but wasn't that a pick we acquired in one of the trade backs? If not it was made to be extra after acquiring another pick. Snead moved around a lot today as always and we still have 1 more pick than we started with and picked twice in the 3rd much higher than we started out there.

I'm still stunned CGJ and Love didn't go.

For tomorrow, would be really nice to get and edge like C.Miller, corner like Love, or even a WR like Butler, who I thought was top 3 WR this draft.  If there are any solid nose tackles left, would be great to add.  Then a guy like Rypien or Stick for our future back up would be perfect.  Love the draft so far.

133? That was our original fourth round pick.

So we moved down basically traded our 4th for 2 5th rounders in these trades. Like I said we have more picks than we started with and ended up with 4 day 2 picks. Once again trader Les in affect.

I was fine with trading out of the first but I felt like we missed out on some potential impact players at key positions of need. It just feels like we didn’t get a whole lot in return for moving down basically an entire round from our original first pick. As far as the players themselves:

Taylor Rapp: Adderly was my favorite safety in this class, but how could you not like Rapp as a player? His 40 time doesn’t concern me. Dude is a great football player and should make an immediate impact in the secondary and be Weddle’s successor.

Darrell Henderson: I really didn’t like this pick and I hated the trade up for it even more. But this dude is electric in and open field and a home run threat anytime he has he ball.

David Long: I LOVE this pick. He was a guy I really wanted us to select and I’m so glad they did. I think he fits our defense perfectly. He’ll provide great depth and should likely take over for Talib after this next season.

Bobby Evans: I admittedly don’t know much about him, but I like his length. He’ll be good depth but I don’t look at him as a future starter. Would have preferred and interior lineman here.

I was fine with our trade downs. We did give some of what we got back when traded up for Henderson.
