Stop monopolizing the market and let multiple companies have it. It's extremely unfair to consumers who are forced to shell out big bucks every year for this, only to be limited on viewing options. I am ok paying 350 a year, but HATE that I am forced to keep Directv

That's why it's gonna continue to be monpolized.

350 a yr for basically an exclusive service is such b.s.

If they go to solely a streaming platform,  how are bars and restaurants going to be affected.   To stream 4 or 5 games in HD at the same time they would have to have a 10G connection to their ISP.   I'm assuming they'd still throw a bone to AT&T/Directv and let them have exclusive rights to business.

Hardly.

I can stream 2 HD shows on Netflix on my 10Mb connection.

Sarcasm?

It's just not worthy the money.  When you can watch similar or the same shows ad-free on multiple different streaming platforms for 10% of the cost, there isn't even a choice.

If you're fine with streaming. Also, your prices are off, but whatever.

Why would I care whether the signal comes from a satellite or a fiber line?

Latency mostly, plus satelite internet is sketchy at best.

Hence why Elon Musk plans to drown the world in free satelite internet.
