Why would QW be recieved negatively?

Only thing I can think of is that they always go interior DL instead of addressing edge rusher? From Wilkerson to Richardson to Williams to Q-Williams? But Wilkerson and Richardson are long gone so not sure why they are getting killed. I mean when they tried to address the edge recently, it was an epic failure lol.

Jets did the right thing here. Could't trade down so they took the BPA who will be a cornerstone for them for years to come.

It's largely this. There's also a question of fit - the belief is that Oliver was just a better fit in Williams' defense than QW is. There's talk now that Williams may end up on an edge, which is less than ideal, but whatever. To me they got arguably the best player in the draft, and as much as I liked Allen, I think that there is a drop off from one to the other. I simply can't begrudge a team for taking the better player.

Lawd, teams make it so much harder than it is. These positional changes are so stupid and just end up hurting the progress of the player. Arik Armstead alluded to that last year.

And the only reason he went third was because of position value. Can't understand anyone hating this pick, even if it seems redundant for a franchise.
