OG_C2X Posted October 3, 2019 Share Posted October 3, 2019 I saw brian burns won rookie of the month. So i spent my morning watching all 308 defensive plays of the panthers this morning. The first thing that stood out was DAMN Burns barely plays. Most of the time there was a good play I would rewatch it looking for Burns, rarely was he on the field. When he was he was washed out on a 1v1 vs the Tackle. My opinion now was the same it was as a prospect. He is being misused as a 4-3 DE. He can't play vs the run and he gets washed out by Power OTs. oakdb36 Posted October 3, 2019 Share Posted October 3, 2019 Burns has played 63% (177) of their snaps. Ferrell has played 79% (219). More than anyone on our dline so far. Allen has played 76% (202). Bosa has played 56% (107). Winovich has played 32% (85). I still think he can develop into a solid player, but I don’t ever see him being a great pass rusher. And none of those other guys are doing much. Maybe they are using him this way because.... **gasp** they realize he's not explosive enough off the edge to generate pressure. He's getting no push inside either for that matter.
