Mazrimiv
At the time GB traded for him, Jefferson was my favorite non-Packers player in the entire league, and the Chargers were my "2nd" team to root for in the NFL. To this day I still root against the Raiders because of the Holy Roller game that kept the Chargers out of the 1978-79 playoffs. It's too bad GB never really figured out how to integrate JJ into the offense. It was a good GB offense to be sure, but with Dickey throwing to Lofton, JJ and Coffman it should have been great. 66PinG
Sad is the fact that you don't understand enough to respect for what it is. Ironic as may seem, the NFL is just a microsm of life in general. Those that cannot grasp this are the ones constantly wetting their pants. BOOMER.

Buddy, hit the little button next to your bed so the nursing home attendant can come give you your pills. I don't know why you felt the need to bring up a bunch of good but not great players (from what I assume to be your midlife crisis stage) but here we are

How about we regroup on this after the season and then see what we have next year. You all are forgetting about the 'develop' part of draft and develop! I agree with the premise that people should give Gary time. I think it is fair to be concerned though since his production was a major red flag in college and he was put highest pick in a decade (probably our least top pick productive through 10 games too with the exception of Sherrod)

Old people complaining that young people don't respect the history of a football franchise enough is sad. Being blunt this season, your X's and O's contributions have gone downhill while your desire to be just plain unfriendly to other posters has skyrocketed, all while we've enjoyed an awesome season thus far, which makes no sense. Go back to being a guy who makes good football posts like we've all seen plenty of times and enough of crap like this.

You give the decrepits free reign to break the rules and rag on people younger than them, and people who don't hate Kaepernick. Give us some consistency. All he said was people don't respect the history of football, while I disagree with him, is it really a big deal? I scrolled right past it with not even a thought to reply. If someone comes after you or anyone else and I see, I'm going to stop it. I work more than I used to so I may not but PM me if that's the case. Forum has gotten abrasive lately, we were sadly a more cohesive place when we sucked. Now the teams good and we suck. I mostly blame @Norm

He just wanted to post about old players so he could lament about the good old days and complain about kids these days. The exact sort of post that deserves to be dismissed.

You're not wrong and it was stupid howling at the moon for sure. I laughed because when I first saw it you said okay boomer and it was the first thing I thought of, as much as in despise that line. Truth is, not knowing about Jefferson is hardly a big deal and then somehow Outpost was supposed to know? I never got the impression he cared about the history of GB anyways. It was all so odd. ****, you know how much older NFL stuff I've watched. Think we discussed it once or twice. But I sure would never give anyone **** for not caring, even as much as I think it's fascinating. Edited November 23, 2019 by Norm
cannondale
If I could remember the games and players from the games I went to in 1919 I would bring them up. I do remember everything I've learned about lawn care though. So stay the hell off.

He recovered very rapidly from his ACL and has been playing since 20 October. i heard he was looking good as well. I agree, using my 50/50 hindsight, that would have been a good pick for 12 assuming that nothing changed such that we then didn't get Savage. It still would have drawn a certain amount of ire, with fans worried that we would be "redshirting" a player and not getting instant impact from the number 12 pick. You have a lot to offer this forum, many very informative and thought provoking posts. But it's the other 90% of your posts (like the recent ones here) that are just so angry and ugly. If you just put your analysis and opinion out there without the added disparagement of others, you'd likely be the best contributor here. MacReady
Alex is really dooming himself if Gary turns into a good one. He will always be the one who hated Gary like I will always be the one who wanted to trade Rodgers.

He will always be the one who hated Gary like I will always be the one who wanted to trade Rodgers. I don't really get the impression he hates Gary. I mean he might, I dunno I'm not in his head, but his posts on this thread have been more about how there's legitimate reason to be concerned about him so far. It's not like it's a secret that people who want something to be true can be overly forgiving of or blind to legitimate concerns. If Gary was a late 20s TT pick people would have been calling to cut him by the end of training camp. In this case it's sort of irrelevant; either Gary will or won't develop into an impact player for Green Bay in time to get value. If he does, the slow start won't matter. But it's not like it's wrong to point out the start is indeed slow, and much slower than most. Players who have as far to go as Gary bust with some frequency; in no way means he's going to, but it's something to be aware of.
