I was hoping we'd get him for awhile. Didn't think it'd actually happen.

Hopefully he's more Julius Peppers than Everette Brown, who we have on staff for some reason.

I like this pick a lot.  I can't help but think Aldon Smith when I see him play.  Aldon got a little bit stronger once he got to the NFL and proved he could hold his own against the run, so that's yet to be seen from Burns.  But as far as pass rushing ability goes, Aldon Smith is the guy I keep going back to when I see Burns.  

One thing that helped Smith out a lot was he had a dominant 3-4 DE in Justin Smith to help him out.  Not only do we need Kawann Short to have a good season, but hopefully we can find someone through the draft or free agency who can help man down the other end spot.  If Burns can get clean 1v1 match-ups against OTs pass protecting, I like his chances of making an impact sooner rather than later.
