Other than G depth, I won't argue. Depth was needed at both S and EDGE.

If Jenkins comes in and wins a G spot(pun intended) I'll be okay with this pick. Just as @AlexGreen#20 put it though, I wish we weren't trying to replace a pretty decent/average guard with the 44th pick in the draft.

Thing is Taylor hardly performed like even an average guard last season. Guys like Lucas Patrick, Barclay etc really have no business sniffing the starting lineup and that’s where we’ve been for years. Gute clearly sees this as a major problem the way I have and now we’re much better off there.

FWIW, Wood reported he was dealing with a pretty severe ankle injury that limited his ROM.

My argument has never been that we're worse off with this pick. Taylor is a pretty solid player. Is he replaceable? Well sure. Would I use the 44th pick in the draft, with loads of talent on the board to replace him? No.

My thought was to move Brian B. Inside to guard and draft a tackle. That could possibly keep BB healthy for his last year. Now what do you do if David B goes down?

I don't know how true it actually it is. But a guy with a knee injury history is more prone to injury at G than tackle. Personally I thought Dillard was our guy at 21.

Not sure I follow, but I'll bite......Run an unbalanced line.  Power to the right and watch defenses try to cope.

Taylor was the dictionary definition of average last year
