2019 Draft Thoughts

Recommended Posts

In terms of the positions selected, this ticked all the boxes i was looking for except OT. I was never really into picking a WR as much as others so im not disappointed at all.  Plus athletes for days, lots of high ceilings so hard to complain about any of the picks

Lane Taylor is a starting guard in the NFL. So if not us, it will be somewhere else. He'd have some trade value if a team loses a starting guard in camp and he doesn't fit our plans.

I dont necessarily agree that Taylor needs to be nervous. They've made a concerted effort to beef up the entire OL and it appears we've got more than a couple "multi-positional" talents - which is good. We'll see how things play out.

You're forgetting the two ultra talented rookie receivers from last year who showed a lot of promise, MVS and ESB. Not to mention Moore, who I'm still really high on. I'm not disagreeing with the thought of adding another WR, hell, I probably would've drafted AJ Brown at 44, but I have high hopes for our young WRs.

if AR isn't gonna throw them the ball cuz they don't run his route....then it's just Adams.

The best thing to happen to a rookie receiver is when they become a second year receiver. It's not just AR and his 'unwillingness' to throw to them. Pretty sure they all got targets. They take time to develop as NFL WR's. Our kids are going to be alright.

I'm making us the favorite to win the North with the off season we had both free agency and draft. Bears are going to be worse. The Vikings about the same and Lions improved some.

Packer 12 - 4

Detroit 10 - 6

Minnesota 7-9

Chicago 6 - 10 (I've been predicting this for them since the double doink and I"m not changing.)

This draft feels weird in my opinion.

-Gary has legit injury concerns.

-Savage cost us a lot to acquire, and most pundits had him lumped in with a group of safeties, so it "feels" like we overpaid.

-Jenkins doesn't have a position to play yet. I imagine he'll get one, but I imagine it means that Spriggs is already on his way out as a future RT.

-Jace feels like a normal pick.

All in all, it doesn't feel like we got the proper value out of rounds 2, 3, and 4.

I guess the biggest addition this offseason is MLF. If he and Rodgers can get along, everything will feel right. If he and AR don't get along, none of these picks will matter.

neglected the Offensive Line again....  had a chance in 7th rd to get Beau...

What the FA move and 2nd round pick isn’t good enough. 2/5 th of the line were possibly upgraded. Not sure what else you wanted. We could have drafted more and still had glaring holes on D. Pick the poison our Oline was not bad last year our QB was.

We didn't draft a pure tackle. But Turner and Murphy can play tackle if need be. Also Jenkins has even played all over the line. My guess is the organization is fine with Spriggs as the main swing tackle this year. We can still draft one early next year when/if Bulaga leaves. I'm alright with our depth.

Top 20 players at their positions except for Jenkins, mostly due to his not having the 40, 20 adn 10 splits

what's savage scored as a Safety?
