Broncofan Posted April 27, 2019 Share Posted April 27, 2019 Whiffing on Day 1-2 with picks is far worse than whiffing on Day 3 - but Elway's normally found gold in Day 3 and UDFA. This year, man, it's hard to see Day 3 working out. Hollins is a potentially good pick, Fangio apparently believes he can play inside/outside, those are key guys for his system. Athletic traits through the roof. Fangio needs to coach him up. But trading to SF for a 30 year old fringe starter ILB with the other 5th? Man. And then trading up to get a project WR that's totally unknown, local kid - that's what you hit UDFA for, like you did with Lindsay. And that's with guys like Emmanuel Hall and Kelvin Harmon and Stanley Morgan Jr. on the board. Man. Hope Elway can repeat his UDFA magic. Day 3 has been uninspiring after finding a ton of value in Day 1-2 (but still with the Q of whether passing on Haskins and keeping the 4th/6th vs. Fant & Lock was the right call). We'll see.
