Not only would the cap savings be hardly more than the vet minimum, but he’s also a ST captain, not just a good ST player and quality depth at an important position. I think there’s a much better chance Shelley makes the team and isn’t active than that McManis is let go in 2019. As for the prospects of Michael Joseph, it’s telling to me that not only did they not elevate him last year when Callahan went down but then they also signed Skrine and then drafted 2 corners this year (Denmark is listed there for now) with their limited draft resources. He’s probably more boundary than slot but I think if they were excited about his prospects going forward their draft goes drastically different last weekend.
