However its not all bad... we do have at least one tryout guy with returning experience, Devonte Williams.  I bet he makes the training camp roster because of this skillset.

Whilst I did guess correctly that one of the tryout guys making the 90 man roster would be a return specialist unfortunately I predicted the wrong player.

It appears that Darrius Shepherd was a punt returner only in college, never scored any TDs though. His highlight video clearly shows he isn't particularly quick but he shows good change of direction ability. As a receiver I don't like the fact he catches passes like he's catching a punt, that's definitely something he needs to work on.

If I'm brutally honest I don't see him making the roster due to the large number of WRs we have. Davis has far more speed and does both kick and punts. Alexander will probably do punts too.

You're spot on with your analysis. He's got decent hands and can make guys miss in the open field better than Davis and Cobb. Davis is a pure straight line speed guy and Cobb a great route runner but neither has juke moves to make tacklers miss like this kid.

I can't believe he's so slow for his size, the sole reason he didn't get drafted. A lot of those runs would've been TD's if he were a little faster. He gets caught from behind a lot but on the positive side his game reminds me of Julian Edelman. A slower short guy who get open and if he catches it by the goal line he has the knack to break a tackle or two to get in. He has a great chance to make the 53 as a returner/ slot receiver.

I disagree with Alexander, no way am I exposing my #1 Corner on returns. See Terrence Murphy.

The guys I like most:

Nate Brooks is a savvy and extremely athletic CB who lacks top speed. I like his chances.

Curtis Bolton is undersized but pretty fast ILB prospect who could bring some pass coverage and special teams coverage talent

Greg Roberts is a long, high upside OLB prospect who has a chance

Yosh is a huge guy who runs fast at OT and has a chance to develop

Larry Williams is a Lane Taylor kinda OG prospect

Manny Wilkins is a strong armed, competitive QB who’s kinda skinny but has a shot

Darrius Shepherd could stick around as a practice squad guy and maybe fill in as a slot guy and punt returner some day
