7[222] Bears Draft RB Kerrith Whyte

Big enough to play ST, has KR experience as well..

Functional enough athleticism to potentially be used as a RB/WR hybrid if need be/ he can be taught to run routes decently well...

 Pretty solid depth singing that could develop into something more. At the very least (as pointed out in the draft thread by Beardown3231), he's pretty assured to bump Mizzell out of his spot/position.

I'm expecting a weekly inactive from him, but it depends on how much Patterson/Cohen get used out of the backfield vs as WR.... and how well he can be taught to run WR routes.

There's a ton of upside and not really any risk to this pick.

Not saying the kid is gonna make the team - but with only 3 TE on the roster rn, maybe we've seen the end of Burton with Braunk moving into a H-Back/TE role. If we need mismatches, we throw a couple running backs on the field, or go with more 5 WR sets - Patterson is big enough to be a small TE anyways. Could also throw Whyte back on kickoffs with patterson, or if cohen needs a breather, then whyte can step into his role fairly effortlessly.

Howard -> Monty

Cohen -> same

Cunningham -> Davis

Mizzell -> Whyte

Burton -> Braunk/Nall

D Brown- -> Patterson

His selection doesn’t bode well for the Nall fans... His KR potential alone justifies this pick, but he has some bit role/depth potential as a back too.

With especially Montgomery and now White after Davis it’s incredibly clear where Nagy saw the biggest deficiency in our offense last year. I’m frickin’ jacked to see what we can do in year 2.

He's really fast clearly, but he doesnt play 4.3 on field.

You watch Henderson, Hill and a healthy Love and they get hole against a light box and they are flat gone at college level.    Against better players.

None of those guys are 4.3 but they all look faster in pads.

Why he is a late round pick.
