Run game should improve several ways:

  • Actually having a coach this year
  • Kubiak / Dennison ZBS scheme has an excellent track record in making OL and RBs look good
  • Personnel upgrades on the OL (at minimum, Bradbury, Kline, plus O'Neill with more experience)
  • More and better TE blocking, if Smith gets snaps replacing Treadwell (more 2-TE sets) or rotationally with Rudolph
  • another elusive, powerful and durable (important given Cook's history) RB, with Mattison more likely to produce intermediate gains (successes) than Murray, though less likely to break off the home run.

In terms of UDFA, it is still early but this group kind of sucks.  No real standout players when usually they bring in some talented players with the UDFA guys after the draft.

Browning is a good leader and competitor but would be impressive he makes the squad at all.  Saint-Amour has some pass rush potential and a good build but is nothing great, Abernathy I thought was always a little overrated on Tennessee, small and lacks big play ability.  Maybe those other guys are studs but I don't know.  Compare that to the Chiefs who got arguably 6 UDFA who could have easily been drafted within those 7 rounds of the draft no question.

$$$$$$

Wonder why that is 9_9

I heard a local sports reporter comment on they might not even have enough money to pay the draft picks they get especially the higher round guys.....

It’s easy to create the money necessary to sign the draft picks; won’t be an issue.

Sure if Reiff restructures his deal like Griffen did, same with Linval.  And sadly just moving on from Rudolph with Irv Smith Jr as your next starting TE next year, not sure I love that idea, he is much smaller and is not as good of a blocker or size weapon for the position but will see.  Waynes they can move on from no question next year but still they are not financially all that flexible according to their salary cap numbers for this year and next.  Proof is in the numbers when they have $5 million to play with and the top team on that list has over $100 million.
