That would make our secondary one of the deepest in the league. Like someone else mentioned, depth on the front 4 is a concern. As for starters, LB is our weakest unit I think on defense. Do you think he'd sign with us (likely something like a 1/$6 mil, which would be great for compensatory if he looks good(?))? He might be good enough to start over whoever at SS, but we have Burnett, Murray and Redwine. Perhaps Dorsey & Co. like who we have enough? 1 hour ago, buno67 said: Coley also wasnt healthy all season. The dude got a high ankle sprain 2weeks before the season started and was playing week1. No way that thing was healed or go healed over the season Coley should be a nice rotational piece this year.

I will leave it up to the coaches to decide who starts. Its great to have starter level talent as depth. I want a lombardi this season and I want to contend for a lombardi ever year for the next 15 years.

That seems reasonable; however, it could be more than implied to Tre Boston before signing that he will start. He is unsigned, but he is clearly an above average starter. It's hard to see him agreeing to sign with us not to start. That said: FS Randall / Redwine SS Boston / Burnett / Murray If one or two guys can play NCB as well and are contributing heavily on special teams, it wouldn't be too farfetched to roll with five safeties. If our DL can stay healthy, the starters and most of the main back ups should have a very good year. I was so excited for Coley last year for the way he played the year before. He just wasn’t the same player last year. That high ankle sprain killed him and he forced himself back way too early. There is no way he ever got that thing healed up.
ReggieCamp
I look forward to functional special teams this year. Between the change in coaching and the investment in personnel, it will be nice to see less than a zillion penalties, the other team's returner being put on the ground, guys keeping their blocking assignments during punts and FG's, and maybe break the occasional return now and then.

Kiwibrown
I'd have Willie's over ratley and strong because of special teams.

As far as outside receivers, I think that will change a lot. The guys that make the most sense to be in the slot, in order, are Jarvis, OBJ, Callaway and then Higgins, of our guys who will get a lot of PT. However I'm sure we will try to create mismatches and sometimes that will put Callaway in the slot or even Higgins if we can somehow match them up against a safety or LB because of the focus on the outside guys. Gonna be fun watching it play out.
