Post-draft Ravens Roster

I always enjoy surveying the roster post-draft, seeing all the positions and thinking where the main position battles will be during camp. I am not including UDFA players* and players on futures contract. 

 

Offense (28)

*I have not added any UDFAs except Gerald Willis, from what I've read has some serious talent and may be able to earn a roster spot on the DL. 

IMO I think the Ravens could add a body from the UDFA class at ILB4 and possibly TE4, those are positions we are a bit thin at. Other than that, it will be tough for any UDFAs to make it given we have more than enough players at each position. Injuries can of course change things.

I'm not sure we'll need a TE4.  Last year's TE4 was Maxx Williams, who mostly seemed to play either in-line or as the H-back - both things that Hayden Hurst can do.

The seeming lack of ILB depth and likely carrying one less EDGE than last will probably help us fit in an extra DB or two

 Not a guarantee that we go with one less edge. Possible they add someone like Ansah once the comp pick deadline passes.

I was thinking if our base offense is a 2 TE set, it would be wise to carry a 4th TE. One injury and you have no backups. 

Likewise, the base defense has 2 ILB, so carrying 3 ILBs would be risky. However, safeties like Levine can function at ILB too. 

The other issue is that the most useful special teams players are often ILB and TEs. They can block, run, and tackle, which you need on punt coverage.
