I'm not saying your take is untrue, but the need for (offensive) tackles is so acute in the NFL, they WILL be overdrafted all through rounds 1 and 2. They are like (a lesser version of) QBs in that regard. Even worse, they usually are not ready 'out of the box', because of the differences between college and NFL play.

Don't worry - it's untrue

Don't draft WRs, RBs, FBs, TEs, Guards, Centers, Inside Linebackers, Specialists, or non pass rushing NTs, in round 1.

I'm not so sure about the WR thing.  Like "moving from 30 to 38 for an extra 4th" for Jordy worked out well and is only a Jeremy Thompson away from spending the #30 pick on Jordy.

O rly. Thanks for the enlightenment.

I'm simply stating what I've seen but, ya know, you're the OT whisperer apparently. Thank god we've got your insight to pidgeonhole us into a draft pick before we even know the board!

"I don't see any DL or OL, at this point, that'll be worth the pick at the back end of the 1st."

How convenient that your "film study" has lead to that conclusion. Especially since 6 OT and 6 DL went in the range the Packers may pick last year alone. Just say you want a WR in Round 1 and be done with it.

Oh look, someone jumps to conclusions when they have no clue wtf they are talking about. I'm shocked. I've flat out said that I simply don't want to be pidgeonholed going into the draft numerous times now.

And last year's class has no basis on this year's so try again.

You are just said you are pigeonholed against OT and DL

Oh, I did now? Where. Show me where I specifically said "do not draft DL or OL."

You do know that reading comprehension is necessary SOMETIMES right?

Grasping at straws again. Your stance has been clear for a while as has mine. Glad that the Packers agree with me

lol whatever you say, homie. Considering I've actually given names to players I'd be comfortable with at the positions you accuse me of supposedly pidgeonholing. You continue to prove that you cannot comprehend anything that's written and read what you want out of it.

If we take OL or DL, I won't care one bit. But, right, you know exactly what I want. My bad. Forgot cannondale knows all.

Thanks for clearing that up.

But you know the board well enough 6 months in advance that an OT or DL won't be available.

I read just fine. Something about a QB in round 1 too.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to know Bulaga's contract situation, state of health, the Packers stance on third contracts, and their draft history. I comprehend those things just fine too. And if there is a patch of grass where Bulaga used to be come April, they aren't waiting until the 5th round to find his replacement

Reading and comprehending are two different things.

And who cares about the QB thing. It's called keeping your options open. If the QBotf falls and we deem it a worthy selection, won't complain. Considering that's exactly what I said, that I wouldn't complain. Again, reading =/= comprehending.

And I certainly haven't suggested waiting til the 5th round.

Through Five Weeks:

Blue = First Round
Green = Packer

Eric Kendricks - 87.2
Deion Jones - 85.8
Luke Kuechly - 84.7
Shaq Thompson - 82.5
CJ Mosley - 81.0
Dont'a Hightower - 78.8
Cory Littleton - 78.6
Todd Davis - 73.7
Tremaine Edmunds - 72.6
Jayon Brown - 71.0
Elandon Roberts - 70
Oren Burks - 68.9
Neville Hewitt - 68.3
Bobby Wagner - 67.5
Danny Trevathan - 66.1
Blake Martinez - 65.9
Jordan Hicks - 65
Bryce Hager - 64.6
Lavonte David - 63.9

Leighton Vander Esch - 63.2
Kyzir White - 62.0
Rashaan Evans - 61.5
Nick K (Bears) - 60.5
Josy Jewell - 60.1
Vince Williams - 59.1
Joe Schobert - 58.7
Jaylon Smith - 58.7
BJ Goodson - 57.9
Myles Jack - 57.3
Nigel Bradham - 56.7
Cole Holcomb - 56.4
Jon Bostic - 56.3
Haason Reddick - 55
Mark Barron - 52.6
Kiko Alonso - 50.5
Roquan Smith - 47.9
Patrick Onwuasor - 45.1
Preston Brown - 42.2
Anthony Walker - 41.1
Jarrad Davis - 29.4
Denzel Perryman - 28.1
Nathan Stupar - 27.7
Tae Davis - 27.6

Couple Notes:

*Two Second round picks at the top.
*Then four first round picks.
*Then an undrafted.

*Mosley happens to play behind Henry Andersen, Leonard Williams, Quinnan Williams and an 80.6 rated nose tackle Steve McLendon.
*Kuchly/Thompson happen to play behind Butler (72.6) Gerald McCoy (78.4) and Dontari Poe (76.1).

*Kenny Clark (71.1?), Montravius Adams (31.4) Lancaster (72.9) Lowry (48.7).

I find it telling that the best ILB in the league (Wagner in my opinion) is having a poorly-rated season once his DL is no longer dominating (lost Bennett and others).

I'm wondering what Kenny's problem is this year.
I'm also wondering if it's worth investing anything significant into ILB with a first round pick instead of investing in better DL.

Like... What sounds better, Kenny Clark, a pass rushing IDL, Gary, Smith, Smith

--OR--

Kenny Clark, Lancaster, Lowry and an ILB who is fast?
