If we get ROH Kevin Steen in AEW, I'll start watching AEW every week. He's a top talent that's been squandered by WWE and is definitely a needle mover. I would KILL to see Steen-Omega.

ROH Steen, and NXT Owens were both incredible.

Why would they keep bringing in guys that couldnt move the needle for WWE?

KO does nothing but entertain a part of what already watches. They have their core group. They need to keep investing the time in guys like Jungle Jack, MJF and other young talents. Theyve had nothing for MJF for awhile now. He was on a monster streak. But theres such a bottleneck logjam at the top that hes being wasted on midcarders.

Such a dumb line of reasoning.

Did Mox move the needle in WWE? NOPE
Would Kenny Omega move the needle in WWE? NOPE
Would MJF move the needle in WWE? NOPE

HES 37. AEW has a DOZEN+ guys at 25 and under.

Unless he can come in with an Eddie Kingston role and help build the youth. (which we know his ego wont allow) Hes not needed for a single thing.

There is no reason for him to be on AEW tv for 10-20 mins a week, with Punk and DB having to get time as well now. When its getting to the point its harming the youngsters the same way it has done for WWE over the past few years.

Now if this was before the other WWE guys arrived. Id more than welcome it. But the timing after other major signings is awful.

AEW has a dozen + guys 25 and younger who can't wrestle or cut a promo as well as Kevin Owens, regardless of Kevin's age.

I can think of one reason. That being "Put the best product possible on display".

And AEW has a dozen + guys 35 and older than can cut a promo. Gee. Wonder why... Maybe someone invested a little time and interest in them at some point.

Your reasoning is akin to saying the Rams shouldn't have traded for Von Miller and Matt Stafford.
They didn't move the needle for their teams and they already have some older players.
They should have kept their picks, and used them on younger guys that they can groom instead of going after guys who make them better right now, when RIGHT NOW is the time for Rams/AEW to strike. Kevin Steen/Owens is a top 10 wrestler in the world. He's chunky AJ Styles. When a top 10 (or really top 50) wrestler is available, you go after them and you highlight them until one of those dozen+ 25 year old and under guys is actually better than him in at least one facet of professional wrestling (wrestling or microphone) rather than just "talent".

Thats your specific opinion.

WWE only ever signed Owens in the first place is because they realized they havent built anyone in years and started grabbing Indie guys.

You can say top 10 or 50 all you want. The shows he was on were sinking to new lows weekly. By over half the past 5 years. And somehow hes going to help a different show?

If he cant jump on board and enhance/coach all this youth. Hes not needed.

I'm of the opinion Steen will help The Elite take out Kenny, and thus a spot will have opened up in the short term. Plus we don't know Mox's status, and Jericho is bound to take some time off. When you factor in his talent, it's a no brainer imo.

Im just trying to look out for the youth because they havent been a focus in ages.

The Punk ratings boost lasted a month. DB boost lasted a few weeks. KO has talent and name, but you have to push him quick out the gate to capitalize on the boost. The cost of that is like were seeing with MJF. Hes undefeated and stuck in this Darby feud because they had to strike while DBs the hot new item.

Its a no brainer if in the past few months they hadnt already pampered Christian, Punk, DB, Cole with major matches and massive chunks of airtime. They might have another Jungle Jack in their mist, and we might not know now for a couple years. Cause all the air time is being gobbled up from them in being able to make any kind of a name for themselves.

They didn’t tank because of Kevin Owens. I think he’s a reason why people stayed for as long as they did ( me being one of those people ). 37 really isn’t old for a wrestler either.

As far as stand alone needle movers, I don’t think there’s many in wrestling. However, KO appeals to both hardcores and casuals , he’s a top name , has endless feud possibilities , and makes your show a lot better. Time is limited and I know you want The Elite on more ( 😉) but this isn’t Braun Strowman or Zach Ryder, Owens is a great wrestler.
