Nobody is getting gifted a spot at the bottom of our roster, and honestly it wouldn’t surprise me in the least if several of our final cuts were picked up elsewhere because they’re better than players 50-53 elsewhere. I'd even say it's likely. The days when we could sneak a good prospect through waivers and onto the PS have already come to an end.

Yeah, but Nagy singled out Raymond. There is room for one or both on practice squad. Like @AZBearsFansaid its nice problem to be worried about bottom of roster projects.

Well.....all I know is no one singled me out as fan of the month so looks like more film study for me.

dll2000
Wow. Jordan Williams-Lambert is ahead of Ridley. I guess they felt Ridley hadn't even practice yet so ... 1 minute ago, dll2000 said: https://www.chicagobears.com/team/depth-chart
dll2000
Our back up OL are not good at this point. Aside from Coward the 2s were murdering our 2s in drills I saw in practice. Aside from Daniels our 1s were mostly murdering our 1s. Leno had 1 really good rep against Mack. Looked like an all pro. That was when I wrote Leno is a stud. Other than that Mack walked through anyone and everyone he faced whenever he wanted.
dll2000
Last two weeks of pre-season are going to be really important for our bottom of roster guys especially the banged up guys. Just a handful of 53 man spots, but there are a lot of guys fighting for practice squad and a future with team.
dll2000
Kwiatkowski holding off Pierre-Lewis and Woods and is 2nd team with Iggy. A lot of people thought Woods was supposed to be OLB. They have him at ILB.
dll2000
DeAndre Houston-Carson and Bush ahead of McManis at S. Might be McManis last year unless they keep 5 safeties which seems unlikely.
dll2000
Bush is no surprise. Been a camp standout and played pretty well at end of last year out of position.

Well that too mostly but he's also part of a trend toward smaller faster ILBs. True but as I recall that number of games they have to remain on the 53 man roster is limited. Can't recall the exact number off the top of my head though. But I do agree that by eliminating earlier cut down dates it's become easier to get those you'd like to keep and develop onto your PS. Still, you'd want to be cautious about who you exposed to waivers. Coward and Wims were last years examples of that.
