I don't necessarily agree completely, because I think you can extend a back, but it just depends upon the cost. Even retrospectively, I have absolutely zero regrets about their extension of Adrian (although that was certainly under far different cap rules) and I'm not necessarily against extending Cook, but it depends upon the cost. Under the current cap system, I wouldn't give a RB any more than $10M per year. (which is somewhere around 5% of the cap).

Don't we get a 4th and a 7th?

swede700
It's certainly still a little early, but here's the first one I've run (on Fanspeak.com): Rd 1: DT Javon Kinlaw (South Carolina) - There's no way he'll be there, but I certainly couldn't pass him up as he was available Rd 2: CB Damon Arnette (Ohio St) Rd 3: OT Lucas Niang (TCU) Rd 4 #1: WR Tyler Johnson (Minnesota) Rd 4 #2: QB Anthony Gordon (Wazzu) Rd 6: S JR Reed (Georgia) Rd 7 #1: OG Tommy Kraemer (Notre Dame) Rd 7 #2: DE Oluwale Betiku (Illinois) Rd 7 #3: CB Essang Bassey (Wake Forest) Rd 7 #4: DT McTelvin Agim (Arkansas) They must have already projected the comp picks to be a 4th and 2 7ths (for the losses of Sheldon Richardson, Tom Compton and Trevor Siemian). And FWIW, here's where the top QBs went: Joe Burrow - Bengals (#1) Justin Herbert - Dolphins (#5) Tua Tagovailoa - Colts (#13) Jordan Love - Chargers (#37) Jake Fromm - Panthers (#38) Jacob Eason - Jaguars (#42) Jalen Hurts - Bucs (all the way to the 4th rd #114) Edited February 14, 2020 by swede700
vikes635
I did one on the draft network but I don't know how believable some of these mid rounds picks are actually gonna be there IRL. I got a IOL some think may go the first day in the third round! 1. DT Neville Gallimore (Didn't like who was available here) 2. CB Cameron Dantzler (almost went Terrell, not sure which one fits out scheme better) 3. IOL Tyler Biadasz (steal) 4. WR Tyler Johnson (I think he will probably go day 2) 5. S. Geno Stone ( where he should go but I like the kid) 6. RB A.J. Dillon (Not a need but couldn't pass on a talent like this) 7. OT Calvin Throckmorton (steal)
VikeManDan
Cardinals just resigned their LT D.J. Humphries to a 3-year deal. Hopefully this takes them out of the OT sweepstakes in round 1. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/28726020/dj-humphries-re-signs-cardinals-3-years-45-million

No, many have talked about him as a solid 2nd round, fringe first round player/talent. There are questions about his durability though. swede700
Well, considering it's Kiper, you can count on it not happening...he's the godfather of draft projections, but he hasn't been anywhere near right in many, many years.

Maybe to people not paying attention, one could argue in terms of ball skills and deep coverage ability he is better than any safety in the draft. In the box Delpit and McKinney are a little better but in coverage Winfield Jr is better than both of them and has been range and ball skills. I would not be surprised if he has a good combine he is a late 1st round pick. Kid can ball and only issue with him is his injury history, basically missed almost two years in a row with injuries before this past season. For the Vikings I would not mind it if all the good OL where gone and they did not like the DL talent and value at that point in the draft. And it is a massive need if Harris walks.
