Practice Squad:

Terez Hall, Damoun Patterson, Ryan Izzo, Gunner Olszewski, Ken Webster, Nick Brossette

Plus four randoms not on the team yet. Keion Crossen and Braxton Berrios will be scooped up. If Shilique Calhoun and Derek Rivers don't get put on PUP/IR then they will be picked up too. Obi Melifonwu will land on another team most definitely, as well as Eric Saubert.

I think Crossen makes the team

P Ryan Allen released. Guess writing was on the wall but still surprised me. Gonna miss him, he was/is a great punter. Not the strongest leg but good enough and he is awesome at directional punts.

Ufomba Kamalu is another guy I see on the scout team. Fringe 53 guy showing the right potential.

Edit: Whoops, and Crossen I liked a lot last year as a prospect but his instincts and focus on playing the ball apparently have not improved. He is usually in position to tackle and he has the athleticism needed but the rest of his game isn't good enough for the Pats secondary this year given the depth everywhere else.

I wonder if Duke Dawson can take Nate Ebner's spot. 🤔

Another thought I've had is whether both Maurice Harris and Philip Dorsett can make the team or if they're competing for one spot, which I think is what's happening with Gordon reinstated so soon.

Edit: Harris will be PUP stashed I'm guessing.

One spot? Howd you figure? You think they go with only 5 WRs?

Gordon, Edelman, Harry, Meyers, Dorsett, Harris.

EDIT: Just realised I forgot about Slater. But I would still consider carrying six WR+Slater, just because TE is such a question mark.

Couple of my thoughts:

-Tight end is fine so long as LaCosse stays healthy and Beck continues to digest the playbook. Watson will be back for primarily blocking after week 4.

-I don't count Slater as a wide receiver.

-Six true receivers I think are: Edelman, Gordon, Harry, Dorsett, Meyers, and Demaryius Thomas. Maurice Harris has a lower leg injury from the first joint practice with the Titans. Meredith on PUP is good insurance late season.

-I feel like one of Thomas or Gordon won't finish the season but that is mostly pessimism. I don't have any good, logical reason for why I think that is, it's just sort of a random guess.

I don't think (THANKFULLY) Stephen Gostkowski is a lock anymore.

Honestly, Bailey will handle kickoffs and punts anyways, why not use him to kick field goals. Probably just as good as Gostkowski but will save a roster spot and a lot of money.

The WR groups is really hard to separate out, and I know it's unlikely, but I'm icreasingly feeling like Gunner Olszewski might make the cut. This is mostly, I'll admit, because I want him to. (He has a funky name and went to a comically small school, how can you not want him to become Edelman 2.0?) But there's also the fact he has taken the VAST majority of the return snaps so far, barely anyone else has taken one. Then there's his very good 3 cone, the fifth fastest WR in the draft class going by combine numbers, and finally....I just really want him to.

No idea who gets cut for him. Probably Meyers, which seems harsh and unlikely.
