Other than a teddy bridge knee job, the last thing you want as an rb is an Achilles injury.

I love him as a pure power back. But with a limited skillset. And he's not"old" by any means but damn. Decent little career none the less

Thought of crow more a zone runner than a power back, he had decent speed 4.5 guy.

He thrived under shanny in his rookie year. He took what the line gave, with occasional brilliance and once a game fell over ending the run before it began.

More than once a game. If he had decent balance he could have been really good. When he keeps his footing he is a good back. Unfortunately he looked like Lonnie Smith (skates) out there a good bit of the time.

Maybe pure runner was a better phrasing.

Yipes, that's a horrible injury for a RB. Raiders should be fine, but might be the end of the road for Crowell.

Yeah.  Really too bad for the guy.  Always like Crowell as a solid #2/tandem back type.  A few times, seemed like maybe he was on the cusp of being something more but never really seemed to put it together consistently and lock down a steady gig in a good scheme fit.  But there's always just so much fresh blood racing to get fed into the NFL RB meatgrinder.  And achilles is especially tough.  He did carve out a decent chunk of change for himself though.
