MrOaktown_56
Apologies if I'm stepping on toes here guys. I figured I'd get a thread together for discussing the offense as a whole and the cohesion/way the parts will fit together. For starters, are you guys excited about the way Jacobs will be used in the short pass game when lined up out wide/in the slot? I think having Brown/Williams outside will make Carr's RB checkdowns/RB targets far more effective.

BayRaider
I’m trying to get hyped about Carr again. If he can’t have the best season of his career with this offense I don’t know what to say. On paper it looks like at least a Top 8-11ish offense comparing to other teams. Still need a TE and true Slot WR this unit looks completely different from last year. But yes he’ll get this year to prove otherwise.

They are gimmick WRs for certain purposes. Nelson is a bubble screen guy and Grant is more of drag/quick out guy. Renfrow is a true slot but he’s not ready year one and may never be. I think we have more than enough at WR going into the season, Brown can play in the slot too.

It means they are meant to do certain things, they are not a true slot WR with a Slot WRs skillset. Renfrow for example is a true slot with great route running in the middle, agility, great quick step at the top of his route, etc. Nelson and JJ are fast and meant for quick short routes. I doubt either will be on the team in 2020.
agarcia34
Waller has be intrigued. I can’t wait to see how he plays during the camps and preseason. He has a golden opportunity to most likely start and get some favorable matchups. He’s never gonna be a blocker but as long as he can be a good receiving target then he can get a lot of playing time. Best case scenario I think would be Waller starting and Foster Moreau as the second TE.

OG_C2X
I think (baring injuries) on September 9th its going to look: QB - Derek Carr RB - Josh Jacobs FB - Alex Ingold TE - Luke Wilson with Fabian Moreau as TE2 WR1 - Antonio Brown WR2 - Tyrell Williams SWR - Hunter Renefrow (J.J. Nelson and Ryan Grant rotate in as 4 and 5 WRs) LT - Kolton Miller LG - Gabe Jackson C - Rodney Hudson RG - Brandon Parker RT - Trent Brown QB: Carr is the obvious starter. I expected him to have 4500 yards 28 TDs 7 INT with the upgrade of weapons and the year of consistency. (i don't care about YPA its a meaningless stat. That depicts nothing and its obvious by the lack of consistency from year to year in even Elite QBs) Not sure how it will translate to the Wons and Losses because of the schedule but i expect us to be competitive. RB/FB: I see Josh Jacobs emerging as very good back in Grudens offense. Having just over 1500 Rushing/Receiving yards combined. Richard and Martin can spell him in situations. I expect Ingold to be the guy and cutting Smith although his relationship with Bisaccia might save him. But i expect Warren to play a Zack Crockett type role on Sundays. WR/TE: I think its obvious the WR1 and WR2 spots are locked in with Brown and Williams. I expect both to have very good seasons in Grudens offense. I think it would be a long shot but i think both can get 1000 yards. But i think more likely is AB gets 1250 and Tyrell gets 900. I think Renefrow surprises people and makes Nelson and Grant become 4th and 5th WR/specialist. I wouldn't be shocked to see him contribute another 500 yards from the slot. As for TE i think Luke Wilson will be the day 1 starter but i liked Moreau as a TE and thought he was under utilized in the pass game there. He is a good blocker and will emerge as a good receiver too. May take Wilsons job by the end of the year bur fully expect him to be the starter in 2020. OL: I think the keep Kolton at LT as Mayock and Gruden have realized RT or LT are both important. Brown was a very good RT with SF. I will not be mad payong him that kind of money ro line up on the right. Bosa or Ingram. Miller or Chubb. Clark or Jones. Doesn't matter what side talented pass rushers are coming from both sides. I think after seeing parker struggle last year and the raiders intentionally sending him to live with Jackson this off season and now seeing him i am convinced the plan is to move him inside to replace Gabe at RG and Gabe will replace Osemele and go back to LG Lets go Raiders!! Humble_Beast
good post... I just think Trent Brown was great at LT last year and Kolton not so much. Money talks, and I see Trent Brown being the LT... Kolton at RT isn't even that bad of a deal for the 15th pick. Parker too tall for guard, I see him as swing tackle in the event Kolton gets hurt again. I see Denzell starting for now. Does Ryan Grant have experience in the slot. Offense has alot of potential tho Edited May 2, 2019 by Humble_Beast

Offense has alot of potential tho Brown has played RT in the past at a very high level plus every team in our division has 2 stud pass rushers so it doesn't really matter who's on the left side or right side.
