TE Lee Smith released

Recommended Posts

Called this after Foster Moreau was drafted. Overrated run blocker who didn’t do enough to justify being on this team.

Foster is already 95% as good with a similar skillset.

Waller, Wilson, and Moreau should be a decent TE group. Maybe keep Carrier as well.

Carrier next I'd assume.

  • Waller as the receiving threat
  • Moreau as the blocker
  • Wilson as the do-it-all vet

I'm alright with this. All though Moreau has a lot of untapped potential as a Receiver imo.

This is a bummer. I'm assuming they will rely on improved tackle play and less max protect with smith. I'll miss him though. Great guy.

Yup Waller and Moreau are the future Cook and Smith.

thought he was a leader.... I thought Carrier would have been gone before Lee, who had a role as a blocking TE...

Because he makes the most money and Moreau has the same skillset with the ability to be better.

Kinda surprised since he was a glue guy but also not surprised at the same time

He's just such a non-receiver it really limits his value. Hopefully, the LSU kid can bring a similar level of blocking with more receiving ability.
